Calling all W208 owners - does your car have a working warning light and/or buzzer if you drive without the driver's seatbelt fastened?

According to WIS, the alarm (if present) should illuminate/sound when the engine is running and the driver's door is shut. There should be a dedicated microswitch on the driver's seat belt buckle for this - no CANbus malarchy.

According to my car, I have a bulb in place in the dashboard for the lamp. I also have a switch on both the driver's and passenger's buckles, (but these may be for the restraint system), but no warning.

Can't fathom it from WIS - too many national variants, too few brain cells.

Help

Thanks

(PS, this is a purely academic question - no advice needed about wearing a seat belt etc.......thanks anyway)

No Light or Buzzer on mine.

+1, always buckle up before driving off so never tested this out. Will give it a go when I am back in the car next week.

AAAAAAAAARGH! DON'T! you'll certainly crash and I could never live with the guilt.

Christ that was close.

None on either of ours.

Light and buzzer on my W203

Thanks for the reponses gents.

Seems the MB customer profile has us W208 drivers as modern spitfire pilots who laugh in the face of danger and feed on the fear that can only come from popping to lateshopper without a seatbelt.

Or maybe they were sympathetic to old duffers, seeing as the seatbelt is just too far back to reach, speshly when you've already set off and you're steering with your knees and trying to sort out a decent TRex CD at the same time....

None on mine of a friend's facelift 208 either. I wonder if it's a US only thing or similar?

no light or buzzer on my A208 when i had it

No typo, silversaloon is using the correct model number for a W208 convertible.

I don't have one on my W210 E220CDI 2002?

Hey hang on a minute, it's just us W208 (and A208) men who have the freedom thing going on here. Maybe yours is just plain broke?

Meddelgerrooo, izzitroo, gunnerbring mahbaybeateryoooo....I'm off to lateshopper
