Hello, to one and all.

I own a E280 CDI elegance w211 2007 post facelift model (44,117 miles). Fully serviced only by MB. It gives me only around ~15mpg in city driving:wallbash:. Even though I maintain my revs at 2000rpm. Please if anyone could give some suggestions or solution, it would very much be appreciated.:D

Engine temp ok, airfilters changed, MAF checked? Is there exhaust smoke? No power loss?

What are you doing that maintains the rpm at 2000? I'd suggest you look at that aspect first. Secondly, what temperature does your engine run at?

Engine temperature is normal (1 bar above 80). No exhaust smoke. But sometimes (very rarely) yes the car does lose its power and I have to turn off the car and start again for it to return to normal.

I slightly lift my foot off the pedal and then accelerate again. Engine temp is normal.

If you in Scotland my tech will have it on a STAR for £25 for a full diagnostic

Way too low.

Change thermostat as first step. Common problem

Has it always given 15mpg ?
Had a Rover 75 cdt 21mpg and Pug 405 TD 23mpg.Short journeys killed mpg on all my cars - and that is over 20yrs.
