Those in the UK will have noticed it has been a bit wet recently ...

A couple of days back, after being parked for several days of non-stop rain, the carpet was VERY wet (water dripping off of it when removed to dry it out). I've not noticed any damp in there before but after a good drying out we had another overnight downpour and again a lot of water in the boot.

I'm sure it is coming in from the top rather that up from the bottom as the well where the spare is stored is dry as is most of the metal floor - it seems to be the carpet that is taking the worst of it.

There is no obvious damage to the boot lid seal. however, I did notice that there is a rubber seal coming off the rear glass that then sits on another piece of rubber that is fixed to the bodywork.

So, my question is, should this seal attached to the glass sit OVER the seal on the bodywork or sit UNDER it? On my car it was part over and part under so I guess that isn't totally right!

The attached picture may, or may not, help clarify what I am trying to explain.

It may not solve the problem but at least getting this bedded in correctly is one less item to check.

Thanks for any guidance.
