So I recently had contaminated fuel in my 2003 s320 CDI and since the car has been fixed I have found another strange problem.
I always fill the tank right up to the max and the car drives perfect, absolutely nothing wrong whatsoever BUT as soon as I've used around 2/3 of the tank, I get the EPC light and limp mode (the engine doesn't cut out but the turbo shuts off and it will only Rev to 3k rpm in each gear), it's done it three times in a row now and all after the same sort of mileage and with the same amount of fuel remaining in the tank. After I fill the car up, the first time starting it after the EPC light has come in takes around 5seconds but after that it's perfect and back to normal again!
Here is a picture of how much fuel I have remaining when the light comes on:
Now these don't have saddle tanks as far as I'm aware and they don't have a fuel pump in the tank as the main unit on the front of the engine does both low and high pressure..... Anyone got any ideas?!
