Wanted - an interesting toy for sub £2k

I'm going to sell it for 3.5 so it's close !

Very nice car indeed .. Some rare options and if i were looking for every day car would be perfect. Not long out of two BMW in a row though (last year) so something different needed I think although older BM's still an option.

Loving the spec though!

XM is interesting although even with the low miles a bit pricey? I like it and do like Citroens ... it is interesting. Bet it is comfrtable.

XM are in demand now, interesting ones sell quickly.

A late V6 Exclusive is a very nice car and that one is sorted.

If I was interested in a Series 2, I would buy it, but earlier ones are my penchant.

That looks nice , needs to be a twin turbo though really.

I found another in completed listings that sold for £800 not as nice though and higher miles. It is a nice car.
I like the c8 too.

Bidding on this at the mo:

1991 JAGUAR XJ-S 4.0 RED | eBay

Good point ... Forgot the twin turbo version.... Will have a hunt.
Just thought of another 3000GT

Although matey with the white 300zx says he has a full twin turbo engine and all ancillaries for the right price ...

How DIY are you ;)

The blue one was a steal, well worth the money.
The silver one has just had a replacement gearbox fitted and Malcolm at Savoy is a straight-forward Guy.
I was amazed how quiet a late V6 is.

Do you mean C6. A very nice car...until you look at the dashboard fittings, which are PSA parts bin stuff...

Its been a while since i did an engine swap and it was on a 911 (easier than most)
Might be a step too far for my skills.
While still going to consider all the above interesting cars I think my short list top 3 in preference is currently:

1) Facelift xjs like this (damn i missed this one!)
1993 Jaguar XJS 4.0 'facelift' Low mileage/1 prev owner with history, v original | eBay

2) A late P38 Range Rover 4.6 HSE or Autobiography / westminster or other ltd edition

3) 500SL

Keep the suggestions coming though!

Sorry yes the c6 ... C8 is the mpv thing :wallbash:

Sorry to jump in again, but while the suggestions are all excellent, the thought occurs that for a cheap plaything the fewer pieces of electronickery there are the better. I have two pet hates, electronics and power steering racks.

I'd like something that I can attack with spanners rather than an oscilloscope!

Give mike a bell from Wheeler Dealers he got a Porshe Boxter for 1k

I like buttons though :)

I know, was incredible if true.
The seller must have felt a fool when seeing all it needed was an oil change.
Didn't make sense to let it go for a grand. Very odd.

That's just an XJS , not an XJRS
