Could you guys show me a pic of a car with quite an amount of 'grit/salt' as i would like to see if i'm swimming in the same pool as you guys !

thanx

Maximum I have ever let salt/grit sit on any my cars is 6 days but unfortuantely the longer u allow it to build up the more it will eat away at ur paintwork/chrome/alloys... etc. To me keeping your car clean is as important as "personal" self hygine... ;)

I don't seem to recall call asking for any pics...

I do about 400 miles per week just for work and it's about 50% motorway so the car has been basically grey with salt and grit by the end of the week!

Ur a brave man - it was absolutely freezing last night. Bet you slept well last night and had great satisifaction from having washed the dirt/salt of ur pride and joy.

The car was seriously filthy, just touching the door handles left my hands black with salt and grit! :(

My nearest petrol station with a jetwash was shut, so I went to a much bigger/popular one near the motorway junction in Heywood - turns out they switch the jetwash off at 8:30pm because the neighbours complain about the noise! Useless!

Went home annoyed and prepared buckets and sponges! I'm sure everyone thought I was mad but the car was gleaming when I finished it at about midnight, even dried it and put tyre-shine on! :D

Some idiots go to the gym! Not me, I just wash and dry my car for a full workout, much cheaper and something to show for all the hard work at the end! ;) Went to bed knackered and slept well.

I go the the Gym and clean the car, its a bit of an either or thing. But a good car clean keeps you fit, all that bending and stretching :D I also get so excited about the results it must raise my heart bit to that fat burn limit :bannana: So I totally agree.

Washed wifes car yesterday it was freezing, have concluded you feel colder cleaning a Renault than a Merc

I have the answer

Last week the dealer washed the car and this week the wife did it. I didn't feel cold at all. :D :D

Sorry... I asumed you were from the UK - Salt/grit is like sand that trucks spray on the roads/motorways at night to stop ice/snow from building up so that cars do not skid/loose control etc.

However, when u drive your car over the salt/grit it makes your car absoluteley filfty/dirty and is very bad for your paintwork chrome alloys etc.
