What car did you pass your driving test in?

Driving school maroon 1965 Austin 1100

Austin 1100 (driving school car) in 1964 - then moved upmarket to my first car - a 1959 Morris Minor 2 door with three 14 inch wheels and one 13 inch (with a larger tyre fitted to compensate) - Another world, but lots more fun :)

Here's one you may not have come across; Ford Laser. - I learnt in Australia so most of my practice was in my parents Ford (EA) Falcon station wagon with a 3.9L straight-six (and single-point fuel injection).

It was the carb'd engine on a B plate. As you say, there were certainly more of the injected ones around.

My dad *had* one.

It went alright - I had a 1.6GL MK4 Escort with the same Webber twin choke - once you opened up the second it did pull quite well - that was an interesting surprise when I first experienced it.

Probably not massively different to a 1.6i Ghia in the real world.

I'd like to say an E Type Jag but I'd be lying. It was a Fiat 500 in 1971 😁
Worth a few bob now I suspect.

Renault 5 with paper-thin bodyskin.
