What do you want to know?

Linked to the above post I had a nose at a C200 Sport today that had just been delivered to the dealer. On the front seat with the bar codes was paperwork that said Made in Germany. Now I thought RHD C Classes came from South Africa?

C 350 e Saloon & Estate are built in Bremen, Germany

Well that's what I thought. Maybe a case of miss labeling then as the car was a C200

I have noticed that the June C Class e-brochure is showing price increases over the April Brochure. I have an order placed in May for an October delivery so will I be expected to pay the higher price or are the prices locked?

Anything from June production is on the higher price, unless you placed an order before mid april and got a price guarantee

Hi there - I've just received a phonecall from my dealership explaining that I can't have my option of Multicontour seats in my new E Class Estate.
They cannot explain why though?
Does anyone know if this option has been removed by MB and why?

So - I'm now left between choosing standard SE (full leather) vs Sports (man-made leather). Have you an opinion on what's more comfortable and best supporting body. Or are they largely the same seat with different coverings?

Thank you

It's likely that they have sold out of that seat for that production period

Personally I think the SE standard seats are very comfortable. The Sports seat is a little more solid, but hugs you more. Personally I would have the sports seats, but I also prefer the more sporty specification. What do you have on order?

The sports seats are a little narrow indeed, so depending on your frame how comfortable they will be I guess. If it's pure comfort, the SE seats are the ones....

JBD,how is apr calculated on agility? I've always had the better end of apr on personal loans etc so wondering if 9.9 is a choice or if it depends on contract length, value of vehicle etc?

Hi JBD,

Firstly, thanks for the quick response. Great having a person like you on the forum.

I've ordered an E Class Estate. Initially ordered the diesel 350 but as I only rack up around 5000 miles per year with a lot of short (<2mile) journeys I decided to change order to petrol 250.
The options I chose are:
Premium Plus pack
Hyacinth Red
360 camera
Airmatic
Privacy glass
Driver's Multicontour seat

The latter only came with SE seat so they reconfigured my order for the full leather SE seats. Now dealer is telling me they cannot select multicontour seat I'm having a dilemma as to whether to go with full leather SE seats or man-made leather/suede sport seats.

If the latter hug me more I'm tempted to go with them. I'm guessing MB wouldn't use cheap man-made fabric, but nevertheless proper leather seems like a better option. However, saying that I read somewhere that good man-made fabrics can often be better than cheap leather.
Hmm - I think I'm convincing myself that the sports seats are probably the better option and if you're saying that would be your choice I'm tempted to go with it.

Argh - dilemma!

I think I better pay my dealer a visit and try them both out soon.

that would be wise. The man made leather is called Artico, it gets a bad rep., unjustly IMO.I have had it nearly 2 years and it's perfect still as it should be.
The spec. on your ordered car looks great, enjoy! I am particularly intrigued by the paint choice, never seen that on an E, reckon it will look stunning.Hope to see some pics when you get it.....

Reading about this Artico fabric across a few forums. Doesn't seem to be too bad with a lot of people who've had both saying it keeps form better over standard leather.
Got a little carried away with the spec. Nearly went for the Drivers Assistance package that gives you the following...

  • Distronic Plus with Pre-Safe® Brake
  • Active Blind Spot Assist
  • Lane-Keeping Assist
  • PRE-SAFE® PLUS
  • DISTRONIC PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist (DTR+Q)
  • Enhanced Brake Assist (BAS+)
  • Brake Assist PLUS with Cross-Traffic Assist (BAS+Q)
  • PRE-SAFE® PLUS
  • Collision mitigation (PRE-SAFE® Brake)
...but then my brain engaged. I don't even like using cruise control on my current car as I feel out of control. The above would just scare me senseless!

As for the the Hyacinth red - well the main reason I chose it was so that I could spot my car in the car park amongst the sea of silvers, blacks and whites!
Saw this colour on a C-Class a while back and it did look good - especially with the privacy glass and the AMG Night Edition body kit.

As for posting a picture- I've got to wait until mid-September :(

The Hyacinth red looks lovely, we have a saloon one in the showroom in that colour

What do you mean is 9.9 a choice? You're best to just ask the flat rate

sorry, should've been clearer. Do MB have a choice as to what apr they can put the customer on to make more money? I know it's all about margins so just wondering if 9.9 would be chosen even if the customer was eligible for a lower rate

The APR's available are set by Mercedes Benz financial services

PM me if you want more info

JBD,
You have mentioned before but I can't find the thread. The C class estate and saloon have some minor spec changes from this month. Can you confirm what they are? From memory it was at least losing some chrome on the body work. For info I have a c 200 sport on order. Delivery due end July.

@JBD

Hello, again. :-)
Don't know if you be able to answer this.
I have loaded the PGPSW camera POI file to my sat nav, but I have been having issues getting the icons to appear; all the proximity alerts work.

Being in the computer/electronics industry I have been having a play around. I have read every piece of info on the Garmin system the one in the car is based on, and have spent hours playing around. I loaded other POI files for things like 'Attractions' etc and these all display the icons as you would expect. My experiments suggest MB has coded the sat nav deliberately to suppress POI icons on a roadside (these would usually be cameras obviously) can you confirm this? And if so why?

I proved it be getting excel to alter each camera location (All 14,000 in the UK) by 5 meters, moving them all 'off road' and every icon now displays. There is further proof in the XML files on the card that force the unit to display the POI's in the pre-loaded POI file on the card (These are all the MB dealers in Europe) the fact there is code to 'force' an icon to display suggests that there must be a rule for them not to ordinarily?

What do you think?

Hi JBD - one more question if you don't mind.
I didn't see any option to debadge the car when speccing the car. Can this be done if asked?

De badging will be done by the dealer at prep stage. At least that is what I have been told by my dealer when enquiring about the same issue.

I had been told similar from my dealer- they told me that MB themselves were not doing debadging anymore on their options list and the dealership would 'have a go, but couldn't guarantee 100% that it would not mark and the risk is yours'!! What rubbish IMO. I have an A6 Avant on order which will be debadged at the factory, would seem to be easier to do there, as in reality it will be 'unbadged'!

Yes, it can be done free of charge from the factory or can be done by the dealer
