Any progress on Android Link?

Hi,

I am just about to buy a slk 250 CDI . I have been told that from Spring 2014 the engine had some updates done to the top end of the engine and injectors . This has supposedly made the engine a lot quieter . Is this true? And how do I tell this engine apart from the older version and do you know dates or starting engine numbers .

It's not something I can say I noticed massively. I'd have to have a look into it fit you to see what those changes happened. The biggest change was the 9 speed box this year

Hi JBD.
At my service last month the software was upgraded on the infotainment system. Even more functions have been removed, is there a reason for this?

Specifically, the quick access menus from the touch pad have been reduced. You used to (for example) swipe up while using sat nav and it brought up the options for say changing the radio station; if while this was on screen you pressed the wheel or touch pad it called up the radio main menu where you could change the radio band etc. This is now all gone, any idea why? It was really useful!

You are correct and I don't believe it will be available in the near future

Either way, it's gone. Been 2 weeks since my service now and I have been using all the inputs and radio settings etc but that extended quick access menu isn't there :-(

Just so people know, I'm going on global training again this year. Croatia in April, mainly focuses around the new range of convertibles coming out.

Not that I've heard of. The next car to launch technologies is the E class and it's not something I've read that's going to be on it

Nothing official yet, but we're anticipating it'll be launched with the 4matic models in the summer

That'll look good I think. Not keen on the chrome belt line on the AMG-Line model. Do you think it'll add privacy glass and different wheels as per other models NP's?
