What do you want to know?

Can the new specifications be ordered now though JBD?

I have a meeting planned to the dealer tomorrow.

No, all new models are June production. We haven’t had pricing and specification nationally yet, so there’s not much point going in yet. Build slots up until May have been locked, so you could only factory order the new model

Order books opened in Germany yesterday. Only thing is it gives a really good steer about the new CO2/mpg values for the post 01/09/18 WLTP cars. Guess the idea is to start building from 01 June do they aren't left with any unsellable stock 01 SEP onwards?

I stumbled across the E Class brochure effective 1st June 18. It is for the saloon & estate and only has diesels and (proper) AMG’s. It has the prices and options. Some of the options such as HUD are restricted to the AMG’s and there is a new ‘comfort’ package (£ 1900) which reintroduces the massage seats and air body control. Comand is £ 1,500 except on the AMG’s.

Comfort package is ait suspension and the air freshener and some other twiddle but no mention of massage seats.....
Still I have an email from Merc UK insisting they will build with massage seats, heated windscreen etc...

Wivenhie, sorry it was late last night when I replued. Really grateful you found the brochure. Just annoyed I need to spend £400 more for sir suspension just to have a chemical air freshener which I hate.

Don't suppose you have the Cabriolet price list/brochure yet:)

Can you check the brochure again, I am fairly sure the comfort package says something about massaging as well as changing the 'ambiance'. If I am right you will get a bit of a result because I had to buy the heat comfort package to get the massage seats total £ 2,300.

I found a Daimler announcement about the new Comfort Package - intro is :-ENERGIZING comfort control is a world first entering series production from September 2017: This optional feature links various comfort systems in the vehicle together. It systematically uses the functions of the climate control system (including fragrancing) and the seats (heater, ventilation, massage), the wall heating as well as lighting and musical atmospheres, and enables a specific wellness set-up tailored to the mood and need of the customer. This enhances physical comfort and performance while driving and during a break.

Full announcement is here :-

Hope this helps

Wivenhoe,
Not knowing about this I did some internet browsing today and read the article you quote, but it seems it combines fitted features only. So in UK we've never had the cooled seats you can have every where else. From what I can see pumps out air freshener, distracts you by moving all the interior lights around and distracts you by clicking strange colours accros the Comand screen. Massage seats were £1600 alone before ( excluding all the stuff it had to be combined with). Looked today and air freshener refills are €50 a pop in Germany. So it looks like I'll have to pay £400 more to loose 1/3rd of my glovebox, have some stupid software that will NEVER be turned on just so I can have air suspension and be denied the proper options I actually want! I would love to be proved wrong but I reckon the only thing on the seat to energize will be the lumbar support going in and out in time to some s**** music that it thinks will "relax me".

Still with the money saved I can look forward to many years of Daily Mail subscription:wallbash::wallbash:

The only solice I can offer is that the car is definitely worth waiting for. Mine was 9+ months from order. Just after I got mine on 1st March I learnt that my E350e model was to be upgraded, of course nobody made me aware of that. It was just as well I got over a 20% discount. I think Merc upgrade / chop the options about far too frequently. What delivery date do you have now ?

It's just all a bit annoying really. Both cars were ordered in Dec 17 for delivery May/June 18, with final spec agreed 1st week of Jan 18 with assurances build slots ect for required del dates were all ok. Then Merc salesman comes crawling out of the wood work in late Feb , "oh we've got a problem with WSC on the Cab" and "there will be at least a 3 month delay",:fail: thus, admitting they have done nothing with my order (other than taking a deposit and humouring me along) for 8 weeks, then when they go to slot in for a build realise they can't. :fail:After I prompt them about are there same issues for the Estate, it transpires there are. I then did some Internet research and uncovered loads of chat about WSC delays, the fact that MB US had removed it from all cars as an option in Q3/17 and that all German dealers were told back end of Q4/17 that WSC was not available until Jun 18. Apparently MB UK Retail (who are supplying my car) knew nothing about this - B****** (followed by much coughing). :dk::dk:After more prompting by me about changes in spec ("we don't know anything about that either" :dk::dk:comes the response, even though the post Apr 18 price list was release on MB UK website in Jan 18) they have assured me I will get heated windscreen and massage seats but my intermediary supplier says he tried to order two cars with heated windscreen in late March for Sep delivery and got the big fat freddie! (hence mine and his scepticism).

So now its all been delayed with currently "Cab coming through end of July with Estate to follow" I will force their hand by saying I will only take a "68 plate" car - forcing them to make sure its a Euro 6d car and one with the updated Driver Assistance Package and latest emission standards.

Hence my frustration with all this rubbish about Energizing nonsense just to have Air Suspension.......:doh::doh::wallbash::wallbash::wallbash: I know it'll be worth the wait but.....

Some new model year info. Today MBUK introduced the E53 in saloon and estate variants and E400d.

James as ever great info. Sorry, I am not trying to be dumb here but.....

Are you saying that new 213 variants built from 01 June will be Euro 6d and the tweaked specs? Will this also apply to 238 variants aswell (as they are built in Bremen and not Stuttgart) or only 213? Only ask as I have now been given a build of last week of Jun for my Cab (which is good) but of course I don't won't to be lumbered with an 18 plate (as I can only collect from mid Aug onwards) or a Euro 6b car with non-enhanced driver assistance package?

No build slot for the Estate yet so since its a post 01 Jun car it will be to the "revised" specs I assume?

Hmmm, that seems a little odd. All models in the MB range will change model year from June, so unless your c Cab is being built as a late car in the current model year, it’s the facelift model

James,

My intermediary is all over the issues with Euro 6b to Euro 6d swap over and 31 Aug deadline (as he deals in a number of brands). I/he have taken the line with Merc that since they have delayed our cars now from May/June to Aug(ish) and with my pre-booked summer holiday (we can't collect till mid Aug) I am requesting Sep delivery. Not worried about the Estate as there is no build slot yet and as you say it won't be a May build as these are locked so will come through as an "updated" post 01 June 18 car.

It's just the Cab (238) I am a bit concerned about - I didn't know when the Bremen production swap to the updated specification was (all German sites just say "June 18", whereas with 213 models they are very specific about "01 June 18"). If mine is being built week 4 or 4 of June (supposed to be at dealer for 15 Jul??) then I would rather than push the build back now and we get an updated car.

What does the updated Driver Assistance Package have over the existing one - I am very happy with mine but really interested how they have improved it

Apparently it has more map based data to give it the power of the s class software, slowing down for bends/junctions and roundabouts. If you want a laugh follow this link:

Mercedes-Benz Car Configurator

Its a bit clunky but i just built an SE with heated windscreen, massage seats, heated rear seats and GET THIS - a front with a proper grill (Avantgarde in normal money!!) and a beautiful flowing black magnolia wood interior trim (as we are having on our cab). It has also delinked air suspension and air freshener. Oh my God - maybe they are watching this forum now and waiting for feedback!!!

Now if only Merc put this into place....what a happy man I would be:):)

This is the code my car built car came up as M3ZBAWB9 so you can see what I mean...

Normally 10-20 days from build, so not too long

Morning JBD,

C43 is now on the MB Configurator.
It looks like there is a price increase of around 7 - 8 %
Am I correct ?
