What do you want to know?

Firstly thanks for offering to help us who are not in the know.

Winter wheels....I have had conflicting information from the dealer I am buying my W205 AMG prem plus with 19" wheels from and the dealer who stores my 17" winter wheels (oem) for my current W204 amg sport plus.

Will the 17" winter wheels fit on the W205?

Thanks in advance

Who have you spoken to at your local dealership? If you've already spoken to the parts/service department and aren't getting anywhere, I'd call a local tyre fitter.
It's not something I'd like to advise on, as it's not my area really

Thanks- I guess I will just take it in for the change at the dealer where the wheels are stored and see what happens when the time comes!!

Had a follow up call from the dealer that is storing my winter wheels who confirmed that the offset is different between the w204 and w205 so I will not be able to use the wheels on the new car!

W204 sizes...
front
7.5x17 _ 47mm
rear
8.5x17 _ 58mm

W205 sizes..
front
17x7.5" _47mm
rear
8.5x17 _ 58mm

So not really sure why they have said they won't fit?

The tyre sizes may well be different, but the bore diameter, PCD and offsets are the same.

They are actually comparing the same size wheels?

The fact that the offset is different is not necessarily a deal breaker. If the 19" rims are wider they will inherently (and possibly) have a different ET than slimmer rims....just because.

I would go for Grobers suggestion and try them. The dealer will be covering their backs and likely will not understand fully the effect of differing ET's.

Just for an example. My 107 has an ET of 25 for 14" steel rims of 5 1/2"J but the 16" x 7" alloys are ET 37 and fit perfectly.

Remember to tell your insurance company what you've done and give them the full details.

The only reason they may not fit is due to the W205 having bigger brakes and simply not allowing a 17" rim on there, but to say the offsets are different is just plain wrong, they are the same for both cars.
As Druk says, of course a 9" wide 19" wheels will have a different offset to a 8.5" wide 17" wheel, it is meant to, the offset keeps the wheel sitting flush on the outside edge, that is the point.

Go down, swap one wheel and see if it fits. Try the front first, if there is a problem you will soon know. A 10-15mm spacer would sort it regardless.

Looking through the iPad app for the new 205 owners manual and there is a small section on 'heated steering wheel'

Having never heard of this before I assume that it's excluded from UK models?

Ant.

I'm also amazed that for such a car as the 205 MB don't offer heated rear seats as an option.

I'm not suprised the c class seem pretty proverty spec unless your spending. These options seem to be offered on the larger range models, well maybe not the rear heated seats.

Tbh how often would you use rear heat seating? I have heated rear seats and don't bother with them.

I think they don't offer heated rear seats because of demand, same for the steering wheel. People don't opt for those on much bigger models, never mind C class

To be honest we had heated rear seats on an ST220 a good while back and although I never got any use out of them (cause I'm always driving) they're a very nice addition for the rear occupants (of which there are many in my busy life).

BMW offer heated rear seats and heated steering wheel on the 3 Series. Hyundai have heated rear seats on their SUV as standard.

And EVEN a Vauhall Mokka has heated steering wheel standard on the SE model.

IMO a car that is meant to offer comfort, class & prestige (The C Class) should be able to offer such things. Even more so when other manufacturers can do so.

I've done some research. The 205's shipped to USA & Canada are offered heated steering wheel but NOT the flat bottomed AMG Line wheel. It's the round wheel as on the Sport model.

I love my heated steering wheel, once of those options that you think "Seriously, have a bit of self respect and man up!" when you see it listed, then once you have it you find it wonderful! :D

Air balance

Should I wish to change the fragrance in the air balance system, what is the criteria for the make up ie oil base / water based or a mixture. If a mixture what percentage of water and oil?
Thanks in advance

I honestly have no idea at all. People just get them from parts to be fair. Is there any breakdown on the box?

I Love a good salesman/woman,they make me smile, being intelligent can
work against you as seeing reason, other than your own agenda will loose your
focus,if you have psychopathic tendencies that will hold you in good stead too!
You sound a nice guy, and I have no axe to grind, you have a novel approach
and I wish you well.:D

Is JBD still posting?

Seen a tweet from MBUK this morning saying the A Class now ships with CarPlay. Any news on when the rest of us can expect a software update mate?

Thanks :-)
