What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Re-adjusted the front lowering links on the air suspension so its not sitting so low.
I think it looks at a better height now.

Now that I live in the country, bought a set of winters for my little car.
They come with free alloys too :p

Should be here next week :)

The People who mucked up the tracking and caused the ESP fault had another go on Monday, Setting it so that the wheel was nearly there.
It didn't help. I removed the steering wheel to find that it was not on the marks I had made a couple of weeks before when repairing the loose indicator switch, a well known problem.
POOLE TYRE and MOT centre, for it is they, told me that they had done it properly. I shall be asking for my money back tomorrow because I had told them that this was not the way to sort out the problem.

Taken it in for its first MoT...

Apparently it will also receive a driveline software update.

Passed.
Nearside control arm replaced (under warranty) due to balljoint wear.
Four-wheel alignment carried out
Driveline software updated

Made to feel very welcome by reception and service staff.
Nice look around the showroom. One or two in there I would drive away if I had the coin.
Had a catch-up chat with one of the sales guys there.

Overall great job MB Cheshire Oaks.

Let the wife have the convertible as the suns out.

I'll probably get it back when the rain comes.:cool:

The GLE had good wash, rinse, dry, clay, dry, Autoglym super resin polish and finally extra gloss protection. The surface now feels like glass and it's very...errr...silver:cool:

In the voice of jessies diet from the fast show. Today ive mostly been changing the oil. Tomorrow ill mostly be changing the front discs and pads.

Drove my old S203 with the steering now corrected from Poole in Dorset to Durham. Bought the replacement for my current aeroplane
and drove home again in a single seven hour stint in comfort with the beautifully set up car feeling more a part of me with every mile. A satnav that really can dodge some of the jams, an ice cold centre console for the drink, smooth quiet power and a chassis that goes where it is pointed make this one of the best cars I have ever owned. It is not as well designed or engineered as an early eighties 900 nor as comfortable and well steering as a CX but it doesn't have their flaws either. As a balance of compromises, it is damn near perfect and made the day a pleasure. Round trip including the jams 50 MPG. Next week is scheduled Le Havre to Kolding then from there to my home near Le Mans. Bring it on!

Killed it, maybe one to many retro fit!!

Fathomed out how to transfer cd discs to my comand hard drive.

Reaffixed the lower engine cover with enough new screws. Checked all the nuts and bolts on the suspension after 1, 000 miles of running on it. Cleared the back out, ready for the trip and collected a sewing machine for my next project.

Brimmed the tank in Southampton and drove to Pompey docks through the roadworks. To my surprise, 61.9 mpg. Can't be much wrong with it.
