Boss is a driving instructor, goes through heaps of cleaning product.Into bulk buying are you !!!!!!
I'm not sure why it was thought a good idea to fit those plastic undertrays - great for lowering drag(maybe), but also perfect for trapping all the crud off the road. The return fold on the sills of my car were solid with mud, held in place only by the lip on the undertray. As well as a faceful of dust, at least it gave me a chance to check out the brake lines and rear subframe, which all look OK. Happy daysOn the basis that every reduction in weight will help my lowly little 1.6, I removed the undertrays and cleaned out all the crud. That lot should be worth another couple of mph...

Looking good.Summer wheels now back on............
Winters did suit the car though
Looking good.
Must say I much prefer the 7-spokes.
I’m clearly biased, but definitely money well spent. You make an old man feel better........had the 7-spokes powder coated last week in readiness to put the summer wheels/tyres back on. (19")
The 5 spoke were actually purchased for the winter tyres that adorned the rims. (18" CLS fitment). Once fitted, really liked them as the offset gave the gave more stanz.
In the past have purchased winter wheels/tyres as a package via one of the websites wanting to avoid inflated main dealer prices. They were for an Audi A3 & Honda S2000, any reason why not doing the same for a Mercedes with fancy gloss black & polished spoked alloys that are going to quickly deteriorate as previous my Mercedes wheels did?You make an old man feel better........had the 7-spokes powder coated last week in readiness to put the summer wheels/tyres back on. Just buy whichever ones work best for you, wherever you buy them from. Were the wheel bolts over tightened by the tyre fitter Rob?24 hours late now, but yesterday I finally got the 4 wheel alignment done after a couple of weeks waiting for the original place I had booked into to fix their setup.
I’ve not really wanted to drive it since the Michelin Sport 4 S tyres were fitted a few weeks ago, so I’m looking forward to taking it for a spin in the coming days.
It turned into a bit of a saga, overtightened wheel bolts meant that the locking but could be removed by the tyre fitter without risk of breaking it.
The main dealer had a go first - and broke it - and then couldn’t take drill it out, so a locking wheel nut removal specialist did the job and made it look easy.
Then I had the new tyres fitted, but getting the wheel alignment done took two attempts as the Hunter Hawk Eye couldn’t recognise the car on the first attempt.
Looking forward to finding out whether these Pilot Sport 4 S are as good as the Internet says they are. They’re the MO1 version too so should be super special.
Overtightened when I had the disks and pads replaced. I asked the guy who removed the broken bolt to remove and retorque them all correctly. He used a 2m long bar to remove a fewWere the wheel bolts over tightened by the tyre fitter Rob?
I always make a point of checking the torque myself after any tyre fitter has been near the car.
