What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Not exactly done to, but bought for, as my front discs are scored and probably warped, as I can feel it though the brake pedal, when I brake. Hope these cure it. 🙂👍

I changed my Merc Discs at 45k miles on my E350 S207 for a similar reason... with genuine ones... now at 73k miles... if they need doing again I will go the Brembo route too... good luck let us know how it goes... My first Discs was seized on and even twatting it with a mallet wouldn't free it.. I learned that after you take the caliper bolts out and move the caliper out of the way.. put the bolt back into the calliper mount bracket and tighten it until it pops the disc off... ;)

By damaged do you mean abnormal wear or cut/gouged?

I would have thought a MOT inspector would be able to tell quickly whether the spring was broken (missing coil or tip) or the damper had failed (fluid leaking).
MOT inspector had wheel removed & could find no reason whatsoever for the tyre damage. Nothing broken nothing damaged & no score marks as if tyre rubbing on any metal part. I can only concluded something got jammed twixt tyre sidewall & a suspension part yet I don't recall sensing anything. Drove car a mile home & checked inside tyre wall - no problem. Have a 20 mile trip Thursday & will check tyre again. However my independent garage unable to solve why one headlight is showing red indicator not amber ( they do not have the necessary diagnostic equipment) so they rang a Mercedes main stealer & sadly it is to them I must take car - gulp. I shall have a firm word that I do NOT wish to be ripped off if it can be fixed BUT am preparing myself for the cost of a new headlight unit. Not the end of the world though. Will let you know how I get on.

A bit of fun/chance to share, and shamelessly plagiarised from the other side (currently running a c4000 posts).
If it's been done before, I couldn't find it.

Can it survive thread assassination on this side - who knows :dk:.

I'll begin:

Dropped it off for an A service/rear washer jet replacement.
Changed my audio 10 radio cassette .to a audio 10 radio cd player .easy job . So selling my cassette player if anyone is interested excellent condition .

Also fitted new puddle lights with the MB emblem on.
Don't worry, having AMG floor mats didn't lead to me getting carried away...... ;)

The missus likes them:)

Changed Front Right ABS wheel speed sensor. Changed front Discs and Pads.

In doing the above, established my jacking and supporting technique for W204 C220. Have searched for a while on how best to Jack up the car and ended up with some eBay purchased pucks so suit my axle stands (See picsView attachment 128573) View attachment 128572Also discovered I needed a higher reach Jack. I bought a low-profile basic Sealey unit but it would only go to approx. 0.38m - insufficient. Ended up buying a second Jack - a Halfords Advances 2t which goes to 0.5m. This new Jack is in a different league tbh, great quality and it’s what’s needed.
I’m worried about the safety of this. I tried using the pucks on axle stands and they slipped off and the car dropped and completely bent the sill. I was really lucky that I wasn’t under it, and I was lucky that the sill is a quite malleable plastic too

The Pucks are not for Axle stands, there for trolley Jacks, that picture shows there not suitable, sat on top like that, they are made to sit in the dish on a trolley Jack.🙄 Like you say, you was lucky. :) 👍

Yes, I certainly learned that. I didn’t realise it was an old post that I was replying to, but hopefully others can see this too!

Took Missy2 for a nice run up to Suffolk to see my new Grandson (9 days old 🤗) and then had a drive out in my sons new Tesla Model Y. OMG that can certainly move. My language was quite colourful when he put his foot down, I had to say to my 3 year old grandson not to repeat what Nanny says when Daddy's car goes fast!

Sorry to hear that you had a scary moment there. Did you use pucks that were slotted to fit the profile of your axle stands?

A good mate of mine had a model Y, they're huge!
