What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

If I wake up early tomorrow it's going for another punt up the M1 to Scratchwood (sorry "London Gateway") services and back.
I lived there 3 days a week a decade ago
Had to be out the place before 6:30am if I wanted to be in Park Royal before the North Circular 'shut' for the day.
Luckily, Bentley called and so started my 7 year stint 'up north' closer to Crewe:) Now happily back in Norfolk:cool:

Had to go to the local country store for some grass seed and barrier fencing today ... thought the SL could do with a run :) It looked great parked between all the pickups and SUVs there :D

Got dirty tyres on the way back from having to pull into passing places :(

I've now got visions of you dismantling the Corby trouser press.

Out of interest, what outfit did you work for in Park Royal?
They are now the Pagani importer in Premier Park, but it would take an Eterniti to explain why I was there... ;)
No trouser presses were harmed during my tenure of any rooms:cool:

Nothing ! - It's too hot to play with cars today

Washed it and fitted my plates!

Re-booked the aircon re-gas with the correct (and much cheaper) refrigerant.

Arranged French breakdown cover.

Ordered my UK numberplate stickers.

Someone else mad enough to be driving an E500 across Europe soon? I'm off later this week. I suspect my AC isn't quite as cold as it should be but I'm worried about regassing it before I go in case it triggers some leak in the system and I have no AC for 40C France...

In preparation I replaced my broken front fog light yesterday. I couldn't get the glass (or even a whole unit) from Merc so had to buy a Taiwanese copy off eBay but the quality seems fine and it fitted fine. Easy job and you don't even need to remove the arch liner, just tuck it behind the brake disc. 30min job all in. (Yes there's an axle stand under there before anyone says it :))

My 211 E500 made it all the way to the Med - Gruissan Plage to be precise. Great cars for those trips.

I've just stuck my Tele Peage transponder to the windscreen of my 212. Cant wait to try it out.

How do you get one in the UK, it used to be only for purchase in France as far as I recall? What a great thing to have for zipping past the queues!

I think one time it used to be for French residents only.

Mine is a Ulys from the French organisation that runs the roads

There's another one calle Bipandgo (very French-sounding).

Then Emovis. I think they're UK-based but cost more.

Discovered the rust worm eating into a wheel arch on the SLK so set about fighting the un-winnable war. Not bad enough to warrant a new steel section yet and the other side is fine. I guess I shouldn’t complain as it’s been through over twenty Scottish winters.

I ordered an Ulys one last week but it hasn't arrived yet. Getting a bit worried it won't show up in time now. How long did yours take to arrive?

Wow! its a long time since I saw a wheelarch with filler. I must have done hundreds over the years. Are you going to paint it yourself?

From the EMOVIS website:

We are currently not accepting French tag subscriptions (Liber-t) / orders as we are out of stock. We are expecting new Liber-t tag stock to arrive between 15 – 22 July

Source: Emovis Tag UK

That suggests that there’s no stock in the UK either 😬

I saw that - that's part of the reason I ordered one from Ulys :D

just be sure they put the correct amount in, mine has front and rear and needs 980gms the standard ones have about 550, for some reason the sticker was peeled off on mine just the tacky bit left
