What MPG are people getting?

I picked up my 2011 c220 CDI AMG Sport estate just before xmas and have done 1200 miles so far.

I've not worked out the real world mpg yet but since reset when I bought the car, the computer currently reads 49.6mpg. That's a 60/40 mix of motorway/town.

A trip down the motorway shows around 55mpg at 70mph.

Mines a manual box though but worth mentioning I found economy worse in cruise. Best economy I've got was when I used the speed limiter and drove sensibly, which was just under 59mpg.
We have thew same vehicle, but mine is the auto. On a drive from Slough to North Yorkshire I got 59MPG out of it with the cruise control set to 62mph. It was a bit boring but frugal!

I am envious of all these high mpgs. Our daily has always done 33mpg never varies. The 450 does about 14mpg so it doesn't go out much.

E250CDI
36.9MPG 12150 miles with average speed of only 25mph.

Winter driving and very little motorway use has dropped my last tank full to an all time low of 38.4 MPG. With no motorway use at all it would be worse.

Long term average 44.7 MPG

I have never calculated my true MPG, I like to live in the delusion that the trip computer MPG is a target to beat on certain journeys :) and must be accurate...
On way back from Yorkshire to London before Xmas I hit 53.2 MPG as the average for the journey in 2002 C270cdi
Long term average is somewhere between 36-38MPG on tanks where my foot isn’t pretending the accelerator has to hit the kick-down on every press.

Just made a return trip from South West Wales to Manchester in our W204 C250 CDI AMG Sports estate and got a whopping 51.5mpg over 380 miles of mostly hilly A roads going through mid wales and about 40 miles on the M56 not to mention commuting around Manchester airport, hotels and the Trafford centre. Filled up before we left £63 and I have exactly half a tank left. Pretty good for a estate car with over 200bhp I thought!

22 ish around town.
35 on a motorway run.

2014 C204 C220 CDI BlueEfficiency (manual)

I get approx 68MPG @ 70 MPH over a long motorway journey, and was pleasantly surprised the other day when I topped up and the range said over 1000 miles.

My previous 2010 C220 W203 did 50.6MPG over 99,999 miles, happy with that.

Just got a 2017 E350d (w213) and can't get it above 40MPG (not much motorway in there). Have a good 600 mile motorway drive at the weekend, will see if it improves there.

I have never had a more economical car as this,on a 22mile drive, with no traffic hold ups and no red lights, driving about 60ish,in eco mode,I regularly get around 65mpg,twice I managed over 70! Amazing for a big auto e220d

I haven't checked it properly yet but I bought my C220 W205 based on the figures I saw when doing my research, with a VED of £20 I am quids in over the Insignia I Px'd which was £225 p.a. with 37mpg overall average. I did reset the trips the other day after refuelling and after around 10 miles it was showing 36.7mpg but I need to check it properly.

I'm running back and forth to Hull at the moment. 120 miles of which, 118 is dual carriage way or motorway. I'm getting 43.5mpg in the E320cdi. This is on winter tyres and 'winter' diesel.

I've never seen it so good ... but I did a Speed Awareness course recently and so now, as an experiment I just been setting the limiter to whatever the speed limit is.

Observing every speed limit 100% has improved my consumption by about 7 mpg and its less stressful as I don't need to look at the speedo, because I know the limiter is covering that!

2009 S320 CDI measured with brim to brim consumption and manual calculation.....

775 round trip - all motorway @70 MPH with Distronic doing work = 42.3mpg
around the doors locally with no motorway cruising and light foot = 22mpg

Cant say id complain at that!

So I guess you mainly drive around town?
Probably 60% around town, queing and the rest on motorways. This one ^ is from August last year (motorway) but when we are on M roads we are usualy with 475lit roof box and full.
If I’m alone on M’s it is 46-47 mpg.
