What private/ personal number plate have got

I got very lucky with my daughter's registration

Her first name is Mia so I found a cheap plate with M14 as the first 3 digits and a shortened version of our surname for the last 3 letters.

When read aloud it is a very close facsimile of her first and last name, all for a couple of hundred quid.

Sticking it on the private plate to begin with saves on administration effort when you want to switch. If you sell it the DVLA issue a date related plate anyway and it only takes a week or 2 to come through.

Matt Ayton is my name ;) (pronounced eighten)

On the downside there's just been a piece on TV news and in the background was a current model Rolls Royce with

R19 LLS spaced as R19LLS.

What carp on such a prestigious car :(.

And, of course, it doesn't spell "Rolls" however hard you squint....

I can remember years ago at a meeting of the Mercedes-Benz Club , a 450 SEL drove in with the plate 450 SEL .

There was also a 190 SL with the number 190 SL .

190 SL was at the 190 day at MB World 24 May.

I had M3 NUW obviously on a M3 I left it on the car as I have no intention of owning a BMW M3 again or any BMW cone to think of it plus it was a cheap plate.

Got to say some of these plates are ridiculous & make no sense... Id rather keep the original reg plate the car had!

^ really? Your plate in that picture is private and what looks to be your initials?

I have F1 BHP.

This is what I am striving for with my car. Does anybody know what the F1 cars BHP is these days?

I can also remember seeing A28 OTE on a W123 280TE .

There have been quite a few famous ones such as Jimmy Tarbuck's COM 1C and Paul Daniels MAG 1C ; Paul McCartney was also shown in a film driving a Silver Cloud with MUS 1C but that may have been a fake .

I also remember a little old lady who drove around Edinburgh with her Austin 1100 , registered ST 1 , and she made life awkward for the makers of a well known TV show who had that plate on the lead character's car and couldn't take it on the public roads .

Val Doonican had VD 1 on his Rolls-Royce , but I don't suppose that plate would appeal to many others .
