Which fuel do you guys use?

My nearest shell garage is around 8 miles away. What other fuel is 98ron??

Well, tesco momentum is the other choice people use.
Not sure what BP is doing these days.

Personally, I'd factor the 8mile trip into my fuelling schedule.

Shell V-Power for me as theres one on the way home from work.

I was on a road trip up the highlands last week and had to fill up with regular 95 grade but any performance driving was out the window relatively soon as I got a flat tyre within 100 miles and my maximum speed for the remaining trip was 50mph. :lol:

I have tried the expensive stuff and the only difference I notice is the price !!

You car has a knock sensor, it will detect what fuel is in there and it will advance teh timing with 98 ron, this may take a tankful to change though. Although putting in 95 will retard the timing immediately.

Your car runs at 471bhp with 98 ron fuel, you will drop down to around 420bhp with 95 ron in it. You will also loose around 10% MPG with the retarded timing.

For the extra 4% it costs you would be mad not to use it.

You engine will run smoother as well on 98/99 ron fuel.


It is a no brainer.

I need to fill up tomorrow morning AGAIN so I know of a local Shell garage a mere 5 miles away (2 gallons there and back !!)..

Hmmm, that is interesting Simon - I wonder of the AMGanisation (made up word ) of the car missed the fuel flap?

Did you have a look in the manual?

This is what I fill up with; Anglo American Oil :: SUNOCO Supreme (115RON, 110MON and 0% oxygen)

Not had chance to but will look this evening..
Got a really sore chest/back at the mo that's come from nowhere..
Hurts to breath etc..

I did notice the super fuel smells a bit different from regular unleaded..

It runs very smoothly now I have added 2 stroke oil...
This time I did use the synthetic version cos its a "special" Beast..
