Your top three driving pet hates...

2. People who speed past at 70mph in a 50MPH average speed check in roadworks?? Does the speed limit not apply to you???
Why that bothers you??
At the end of the day is their licence.

That's because they know the cameras are not working.

If you take a safe and quick peep at the SPECS systems there are more often than not no wires coming from the post through to the concrete base. There's a good 2 to 3 inch gap between the post and the base that you can clearly see if there's any cabling in situ.

Hope that helps.

I can't believe I'm alone in this:
People who blindly follow the bumper of the car in front when driving down busy but narrow country lanes. If only they would look beyond the car in front to assess whether there is oncoming traffic and whether there will be room for more than one car to pass that oncoming traffic then everyone's journey would be much quicker and easier. Sometimes I feel like getting out and asking them if they would like a tow!

Haven't got any. Enjoying life too much ;)

people not saying thank you when 1. you stop to let them pass on a narrow road, 2. you ease off the accelerator to allow them to cross lane...

wrong lane kn0bs (well that's what i call them!) - those that get into wrong lane at roundabout entry....want to take the 4th exit and get into the left most lane because it has a few less cars in queue

breaking unnecessarily on the motorway

pet driving hates. other road users. the roads are way better when they are quiet

As a pet hate this is quickly becomming my no.1.

Van and pickup drivers that won't move out of the R/h lane on the motorway...they just don't move over...ever.

Had a smile this morning though. Following an Insignia through some 50mph roadworks he kept slowing down for no reason other than being alongside an articulated lorry. When we finally got back to NSL, he didn't speed up, so I gave him a quick flash.
By this time he was level with the front of the lorry.
Instead of just speeding up a bit he drifted left, nearly into the lorry, then sped up a bit and pulled in allowing me past.

As I went by he went to gesticulate, but found he couldn't because he was holding his coffee mug...

He sounds like a grade A accident waiting to happen. Let's hope he spilled his coffee into his lap and as he's driving, had to endure the agony which rendered his gentleman sausage somewhat pork scratching like, making him unable to reproduce.

Harsh but well deserved. What planet are these people on??

Mainly, but not exclusively, foreign drivers who now live in the UK but have no idea about lane etiquette, speed repeater signs etc and assume that what was normal in their country of origin is ok here.

While I am on a role, old people, young drivers, learner drivers and anyone else who is not a member of MBClub.co.uk LOL :-)

People who think it's THEIR right of way ALL the time regardless of give way signs or what side of the road the parked cars are on etc.
Some are oblivous idiots and others drive Range Rovers or VW Passat estates..

:wallbash:

Oh and people who do 60 on the motorway for miles, then speed up to 70+ just as you've pulled out to overtake..

It wasn't daft but meant as light hearted. But if drinking is forbidden whilst driving then there is no need for cup holders and cup holders surely encourage drivers to drink while driving. Personally I see no problem in drinking while you are driving provided its done in a responsible manner and not distracting you or when at a hazardous location eg roundabouts.

So...you sit for miles behind someone on the motorway at 60...why didn't you overtake earlier?

I think his comment was also tongue in cheek.

Well if I'm doing 70 and the roads are reasonably clear, I can see them getting nearer and nearer from quite a distance so can judge their speed at about 60...

Miles may be an exaggeration, but my point still stands...

I don't have a problem with people doing 60, just the speeding up as per my original post..

Manufactures could tell you that cup holders are intended to be used when the vehicle is stationary, but there's always plenty of plonkers to take things to the next level.

How do you drink responsibly whilst driving? Drinking whilst driving must be as distracting as using a mobile phone, maybe even more so at times by virtue of the action obscuring vision.

I have seen more than one goods driver steering with both elbows whilst pouring a hot drink from a flask.

Which brings me to one of my pet hates, a psychological condition called illusory superiority.
