Just been given a rough estimate to change the gearbox oil. Over 3 Hours and £300/400 cost. just thinking out aloud, does it take this long to change the oil?

Lads what gearbox oil is recommended for my two w203 cars. One is 2 liter and other is 2 liter compressor. Maybe same oil. Anything else like filters etc. New to Mercedes. Had bmws for past 10 years

What are the tell tale signs that gearbox oil needs replacing.
I have a 61 plate C250 S204 (67k on the clock) that I've had approx 3 months now. I sometimes find the gear changing a bit lumpy and not smooth like my friends E220.
I don't know the service history of my car (not available when I...
Just stripped the parking brake motor gearbox on my w221 anyone recommend the type of grease for the plastic gears, silicon grease looks like it is generally good for use on plastic gears, can anyone confirm this, thanks
Evening all,
Long time reader, first time poster. Spent a lot of time browsing the forums prior to buying my first MB, and became the proud owner of an '04 S211 E320 a few months back.
The car is brilliant, but over the last month I noticed a vibration under load, which thanks to this...
I've got a genuine Merc Gearbox Dipstick that I don't need anymore as I've sold the car.
I used it on my 2006 CLK 220 cdi sport, should work with any 722.6 Gearbox I think but check the part number. It's W140589152100.
After £15 + p&p or collection from West Bromwich
Thanks
James

I'm 38, and if I think back to cars when I was growing up, all cars had were a steering wheel and a fm stereo.
The progression since then is huge. Will the next 30 years see the Petrol/Diesel engine gone, along with manual transmission, and if so, will you miss it?

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum having only owned my E280cdi 2009 estate for a couple of months.
On the whole I'm pretty happy with the car but it does have a couple of issues.
Firstly. Although it has full MB dealer history it had only had 1 gearbox service done at 45K it's now done 110k...
