After many months I have received my new key for my car however having placed it in the ignition had "collecting data" on the dashboard after a while the key will now open, close and start the engine but will not allow the gear selector to be moved from the P position, car has sat on my drive...

I have 3 button key fob One for opening - One for closing - One for the boot. Pressing the button to lock the car will not lock but however when I manually lock the car the fob will open and it also works for the boot. Any ideas ? :confused:

Hi, my newly acquired CLK seems to only be unlocking and locking via the key intermittently. I have changed the batteries and the fob light is coming on with every press but I have to be very close to the car and still sometimes it doesn't work any ideas? Thanks in advance

Can anybody throw any light on a story I was told today that the Mercedes s320 w221 keys have a built in countdown on the number of times they are used,if true when they reach zero do they just stop working:confused:

When I bought my W124 200TE a year ago, it only came with one key. It has always been on my mind to try and get another one for obvious reasons, but I'd also like to try and get a second remote pad as it's rather knackered. Any ideas would be gratefully received

The key fob lock/unlock select is very very hit and miss and when the locks function they are very slow to slide up or down. I spend up to a minute searching for the key fob "IR" to locate the receiver. Any ideas? [Changed the battery twice in a week as I thought it was a duffer to start with -...
