Hi folks,

Can anyone help me out there ? The car is a 1999 W202 c230 K Sport.

There is a fastner holding up the sideskirt at the front of the sideskirt next to the jacking point. (Front of the car)

I have spent quite a while in the Croydon dealer and they are unable to identify it on their system, and its not listed on the diagram of the sideskirt.

The attached pic shows the fastner next to the jacking point.....can anyone help as I need a part number to get it ordered ???

Many Thanks

Possibly A 001 994 98 45 or A 001 988 76 81. Have your dealer take a look at those numbers. Not likely to cost a fortune if they aren't sure and they order them in.

I need a rear one + the jacking point rubber bung so will be interested to know the result.

Steve, A 202 997 01 86 is listed as plug, jacking socket 22mm, that what you're looking for?

Sorry, both of these appear to be incorrect and dont belong to the sideskirt.

With regards the fastener..... from the picture it looks very much like the one in the fairing at the bottom of my suzuki gsxr.

Its a long shot but if if you have a nearby suzuki bike dealer you could ask for part number 94536-35F00.

Disclaimer: my 'microfiche' for the bike is a copied pdf and I think  I have identified the right part.

Good luck

246 is a rivet.
The part you want looks like the same type used to hold the sides of the boot carpet in place,

... which is called a rivet. For example, item 62 here (for a 202 saloon).

Yeah....tried the revet...it was also wrong.

I just cant understand why MB cannot identify a part that is soo crutial to holding up the sideskirt.

How about trying a merc breakers (most have "holding" ads for filler caps etc on e-bay) - postage might make it a little more expensive, but if you send a photo they should be able to locate it and remove it without the need for part numbers.

Only problem being the majority being broken are pre-facelift (no skirts).

Hi, I guess thats the way I will have to go.....although I have convinced the dealership now to at least put it up on the ramps and take a look at the part, which they were initially unwilling to do.

I went into the Croydon dealership today as I have been supplied the wrong part three times and asked if one of their technicians could have a look at it.

The parts person when around the back and came out 5 minutes later and told me that they are refusing to come and look at the car.

I told him what I thought of the service that I was getting and stormed out !!!!!

Some of these dealerships ( the croydon one in particular ) are a bloddy disgrace when it comes to customer service !!!!!

I've had a quick look - part A1169870044 is a 13.5mm expansion plug for the side member which sounds about right.

I cant seem to remember seeing that part when I fitted the sideskirts to my old W202, is your skirt handing down at the moment?

All the attachments I used were along the top of this:
