For me, with that grill, it looks ridiculous...

I think that sums it up.

I'm disappointed again. To my eye it does improve over the original W212 when the lights are off. With the lights on it just looks kind of odd and creepy.

Clearly it isn't a small car when you see it next to the W210s but you have to look to see that it isn't. And without another known quality car nearby to compare it with it shrinks.

i think my problem with the massive star in the grill is this that instead of thinking it looks sporty and fast like an SL or SEC or CLS or SLS, I see a van or truck :-/

Hmmm. that grill is "bling" or as you might say "in your face" styling. Needs toning down a bit.

Do think it's odd that they're moving away (in the UK at least) from having the traditional grille, like you can in Germany:

Not true now, I'm pretty sure that in the UK all models will have that grille.

Think the two model lines are SE and AMG Sport both have the big star grille and lose the bonnet star!

Just re-read the UK prices, yeah they have lost that option.

They have done with the facelift W204 aswell.


I miss having a bonnet star on the CLK. I keep driving into my hedge as I cant judge the bonnets distance now
