Here is a very interesting report, it tackles both the fuel and water magnet treatments.

Edit: and another http://skepdic.com/inset.html

In Magnetic treatment defence my house is in a very hard water area and we dont get scale because the company that builds these houses installs a large magnetic treater in every new house. Whether or not it works on fuel I dont know but if does stop scale on my bath!

Hmmm, R2D2, did you check the horsepower of your car befaore fitting it? That was if you don't have an increase in fuel efficiency, on your next road test you should have 27% more HP :P

The leaflets my dad does are in one of my lorries which is having a new clutch fitted, but here is his website.

It works by connecting the plasma injectors to the warp core phase injectors. By reversing the polarity of the neutron flow, the harmonic disturbance field is re-flowed through the positronic EMS, thus creating a disturbance in the time/space continum. This makes for a highly non-linear, multi-variable, partially known, stochastic, distrubuted VSS; a multivatiable reference tracking disturbance rejection system.

Or maybe it's just a con?

Sounds more like Data and Geordie came up with that explanation! I'd have suggested Scottie but IIRC he came up with lame excuses like "grit in the bearings"! ;)

Well to make sure that my fuel consumption doesnt benefit from any subconciously going light on the pedal. I raced an MX5 and a Laguana today just to try to keep below 25mpg!

Trouble is, what if it actually works??

11 gallons at 25mpg = 275 miles

I fitted the fuel saver half way through the tank which is a bit unfair but if the second half of the tank was 10% better then my 11 gallons should take me 288miles

So my next tank with say a 10% improvement on a full tank should me over 300 miles at 302.5 miles. We shall see...............but the MX5 lost this morning so I havent been driving gently!

Right chaps - i'm going to make use of my sub-light impulse engine and drive to work - toodle pip - see you all tomorrow !!

Jokes aside, I really hope it does work for you. Some of us are just a little (alot?) skeptical of the whole thing.
I think the most common criticism of this kind of "wonder product" is "if it's so great howcome the manufacturers don't use them?". I mean surely during the 7 years and countless millions of pounds worth of development that went into the W202 someone could have tried strapping a £5 magnet to a fuel pipe? I mean what do they know? ;)

R2

Though the C200 was supposed to be better economy than the 180. Im getting about 28 to the gallon and generally short journey across town. There was another thread about these a while back. There is one Called the Pilot Green that was being sold off on QVC again promising big fuel savings of around 27% but initially increasing the consumption.

Just check out the link below.

Fuel Saving Device Really ?????

My cousin asked me to fit one to her megane, i was also sceptical, but she is genuinly getting 50 more miles per tankful. She does exactly the same journey every day and uses the same fuel....
