A very tight junction and too much speed.

I've had lots of thrills in cars, some due to speed, others due to ice, others due to the Police :D, two or three heavy write offs (none my fault)

As there seems to be a lively debate here and a variance of opinion regarding the rights and wrongs in this thread, for those who like to fire the bullets so generously donated, why not describe the circumstances of the three right offs, to provide further entertainment?

Nonsense, there's at least another 10 pages left in this thread

This is a graphic example of how one gets to 32,000 posts...I did wonder DM ;)

Much of DM's 32,000 post-count (something which he never mentions but strangely some seem to ridicule) has been of enormous benefit to the members of MBClub.
There have been times when DM has been away from the forum which has resulted in a dearth of technical help, banter and mirth.

Sure enough, he'll overstep the mark on occasions which sometimes warrants a slap on the back of his legs, but without question, this place is privileged to have him as a member.

Indeed, I'm sure you are right, and I'm not referring to that aspect, simply this 'arguing the toss' aspect.

That is very true.

It took me over a year to accept DM for who he is, but I think I eventually have :)

As they say, take some of his posts with pinch of salt, learn from some of the others and ignore the ones you dont agree with.

If only he would do the same!!
Better than the cricket, this.
Travelling too fast for conditions absolutely without any doubt.

If you had bothered to read the thread, you would know none of the above apply and have already been covered, but then since your post was just to add to the Sh!t stirring, I wouldn't expect you to have read the thread.

I don't normally quote myself, but it seems appropriate.

:)

I supose you must know by now what it feels like, You tend to give it out but dont like to recieve, I admit i posted just to wind you up as much as possible along with the rest of the comments about your relying on gagets to do your driving. If you were at a junction and a car coming along the road indicating to turn left into your road would you pull out purley because he was indicating or wait for him to turn, If you give it out be prepared to take it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your case is not diferent to mine yet you are trying to blame road markings and signs and even google for your icorrect driving metods, get a grip.

I have to agree that if you can give it you must be able to take it.
There is no question that Will has a plethora of advice, knowledge but some of his answers to some innocent guys posts are a little harsh to say the least and that is what gets peoples backs up.
I think DM opened himself wide open with this thread and even to the bitter end his fighting spirit keeps him in the loop.
This thread has been read and commented by many and so shows that there still is a decent forum and it takes many varied characters to keep people interested
Interesting reading the pro DM and anti-DM sides, me......I'm sitting on the fence :)

......I'm sitting on the fence :)

Well, be careful. If somebody approaches the junction too quickly for the conditions, he may just leave the carriageway and crash into the fence…..

Best thread this week.

Ash is right... DM at least people read your stuff!

Citroen brakes are rubbish DM couldn't have been going too fast if he got around the corner.

Yes the brakes are rubbish but then there's no real need to use them because you can take corners at any speed without flipping the car over....

And wasn't DM in a Pug at the time?

I think the Peugeot has been demoted to the Bassets Kennel:eek:

Just read all this. For what its worth, I've used that particular junction while driving friends to Goodrich Castle - not a million miles away from me.

The angle of the bend caught me unawares too, but in broad daylight and dry conditions. I felt a bit of a plonker, thinking I'd missed something, but no - it's a nasty little beggar. It really could do with a sharp deviation sign.

But we are talking Forest of Dean territory, here. Things are different. Lovely family though ;)
