Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

GM MY 1 on an Astra Coupe @ Hockenheim on Monday.

N999 CLK on a C209 @ Luton train station yesterday (no GNERs from KC - had to get train from Thameslink to Luton then connecting bus to Peter! :s).
 
Not that you can make anything out of it apart from the obvious but I have K500 PMG in my yard, wonder what that plate is worth?
 
Why was P4VEY ten grand ?

We were going to buy M1 ATT , that spells our surname exactly ( Miatt ) , but someone else have bought it before us ..... for £650 ...

I can imagine D4 VEY costing ten K , but P4 VEY doesn't mean anything to anyone unless it's your surname ....

V4 VEY is £399 , X4 VEY and Y4 VEY are both £499 , on the DVLA site at the mo ....

Bet it looks good on the bike .... :)

Well point is, it is my surname, and regtransfers had it and wanted £9,995, I checked DVLA and got mine for £299. Lots of plates don`t mean anything to anyone but those who want them. We buy a few from time to time in the DVLA auctions and some which don`t seem to mean anything whatsoever make a fortune. P4VSY is on regtransfers for £5895!!!!!! Go figure :eek:
 
RegTransfers are bunch of jokers by the sound of things ..... ten grand ;) they must just buy up all the plates that sound remotely like an English word and then stick them up for silly money !

God knows what they'd say mine was worth then ... :rolleyes:

Cheers mate, have just had a quick look, they`d value yours at between £5-10k I would think :D

My cousin just bought a Pug 206 CC from a woman called Pirdy Carr and she left the plate on the car of P12 DYC. Reg transfers offered her £300, and then put it on their site for £1145. There you go, a plate for everyone, but they`re only worth what someone will pay for them :rolleyes:

Thanks mate, your right, they don`t always get it, but as far as I`m aware they`re a bit like estate agents in as much as they don`t buy the plate off you until they`ve already sold it, so effectively acting as middle men, I`ve been trying to buy 4 DJP off then for over a year and they will not budge a penny off the £14995 asking price, which I`m not about to pay. I bought a very dodgy Tigger plate for my girlfriend and sold it 3 years later, I advertised it at £1495 and I took a grand for it, it all depends if people have bought it for quick profit or long term gain. ;)

Thanks for all your welcomes, I`ll be on here a bit as we`ve got 11 different mercs on the fleet, so no doubt can hopefully swop a bit of info as we go along :D
