Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

With this plate on my car it's not a good investment as it is only worth anything on the car. But there again you can't take it with you, money that is.

Nice plate for your car. I bought my plate MBC 230K for the reserve price. All in all about £400 all in. The "value" of such a plate is that come resale time is that it makes your car stand out from the crowd. It's not the same as leather, xenons and so on BUT it is a good selling point (and a UNIQUE point). In the meantime, you get the use of a cool plate.

Theoretical Question
Given that it's illegal to display a plate except in the approved format and font, what is the situation if you are travelling abroad? Foreign authorities would presumably not be able to do anything - or is there some fiendish EU regulation to catch people out?

PEN 1S - is I believe owned by Steve Parrish, ex 70 / 80's motorcycle racer and friend of Barry Sheene, now does sport commentary - always known as a practical joker.

I think you will find if it was once issued that it has now been withdrawn.
I have a way of checking at work that is MUCH more reliable than the AA or RAC sites but don't fancy losing my job :D

Been to the Albion a lot, a friend of mines father used to play sax in there occasionally, tragically he passed away earlier this year.....

I vaguely remember a very boozy session there on the day of the Jubilee a couple of years ago... nice pub , good atmosphere !

Perhaps in the summer , we could organise a mini Surrey GTG ?

Plodd

It is on his Merc.

Hi Toni,
:) I think it a bit unfair to engage 'Plod' on this interesting thread. It is very easy for Police Officers or indeed employee's to loose their jobs merely by 'helping friends'

I believe both of you :) and am enjoying reading all the different combinations.

Is there one for Spurs?? :)

Regards,
John

or even worse....

(From the BBC...)

"A vehicle registration official who gave drivers' addresses to animal rights activists has been jailed for five months.
Barry Saul Dickinson, 34, of Manor Forstal, New Ash Green, Kent, was convicted at Stafford Crown Court of misconduct in a public office.

He had enabled protesters to find people connected to a guinea pig farm in Staffordshire.

A police spokesman said information had been used to "terrorise" families."

It is PEN 15, not PEN 1S.

Count me in for a mini GTG, depending on date/time though. Any chance of getting Rick to bring his CL65?

I used to drink in there a few years ago sometimes with Benny Lee (Lee Lighting, Shepperton Studios) He's dead aswell now.

i got mine from dvla for only £1000 all in! a fews back: S1 MEW (S1ME W)

Will certainly ask him, i'll see him saturday night as i'm off to the Quo concert in Wembley (backstage passes :o )

Whether he'll be in any state to discuss a GTG though is debatable !!!

I had a number of very funny experiences with the boys from Lee Lighting when in Morrocco for three months filming The Mummy with them...... they're a great bunch !

Totally agree with your points, perhaps AR 53 NAL was not the best example, but both you and I have spaced it correctly. I should imagine though the number will be illegally sited even if it is just the spacing being to close
AR53NAL.

I think the correct spacing is actually AR53 NAL

My apologies, I lead a very sheltered life and definitely do NOT get out very much :)

Good spotting,
Being a Spurs fan the correct spacing would be censored
