As I understand it, the AMG wheel fitment (8.5 & 7.5x17) on the c class has tyre sizes of 225/45 17 front and 245/40 17 rear.

This gives rise to a difference in circumference front to rear of 20.8mm.

If fitting this set up to a car which didn't have it originally, will it not confuse the ABS/ASR?

There is an acceptable error on tyre sizes to account for different tread levels, a 'big' 225 from some manufacturers etc.. You won't need to adjust anything to change to the 225/245 sizes
