Boy racers not signalling and tailgating an inch from your rear!!

The only accidents i was involved in, i was perfectly stationery.
Some old woman decided that reverse gear at a set of lights is better than first and whack went my headlamps.
second time another old man decided that reversing in a van with no rear windows was a very good idea.
bang went the drivers door.
Now i steer clear of that generation even though i have nothing against them, but i think my psychological trait is getting the better of me.

The thing I destest the most about boy racers in the Corsas with the steam roller wheels, smoked out windows (they don't call them blacked out anymore-oviously not cool, init) bass boxes worth more than the car and a dustbin for an exhaust is the fact that they think they look cool and drive a fast car...sadly, to me anyway, they just look like d**kheads.

just as more women are now getting into night club brawls, they will soon be the new girl racers on the block with their souped up puntos and corsas.

as for the old/ young male insurance debate.
Lets just say we compensate for it in life/health insurance

I've had experiences with Girl racers on the A13 from Thurrock back into London...not pleasant...I just keep my distance away from them, not even tempted to bother with a return gesture; it's pointless. As long as the car goes, and they get the fast lane clear, they dont give 2 cr*ps. I've seen girls driving souped up cars, with no brake lights, dim headlights, wing mirrors folded in ( ??????)....I dont understand it.

Whilst on this boyracer thread, I (do not ask me what posessed me) had a nose on the Maxpower forum. I now understand why these type of people do tacky things to their cars. The following is an extract from the Maxpower forum:

this is my tigra its my project car at the moment, i would like to no wat u think about it! and if u have any ideas, will have more pics on the way soon!!!

---------------------

What plans do you have for it?
Bumblebee, stop lubricating on the human!

---------------------

The problem with the Tigra is that it is the ultimate hairdresser's car. You'll need a fairly serious overhaul to combat that.

-----------------------

I'll be very interested to see the end result and best of luck.

------------------------------

i think it will look better when it is finished

You have to picture a tigra with body filler 'restyled' bumpers, spots of grey primer here and there bits stuck on.....I just love the last comment! Really??

For those who think "old" people should be removed from the road, just remember that ageing is a universal one way system. You will be there one day, are you going to hang up your car keys at some given age? Or will YOUR reactions and faculties not degrade like mine and everyone elses.
For those who know about "understeer/oversteer & etc" whlie its nice to know and understand such things (and I believe I do) just consider that if you ever need to employ such corrections then you are probably driving inappropriately for the prevailing conditions. In my opinion we are too often subjected to how presenters of popular motoring shows can powerslide cars around a racetrack.
I suspect that the "younger" drivers(probably more likely to participate in track days) believe they have excellent driving skills, on a public road these "skills" should never need to be employed.
In the real world why should it matter that a mondeo out handles a vectra? You should never be driving fast enough to find out.

Be careful who you choose to 'brake-test' - I did it a few years ago to a van, perhaps it was a mistake when at the traffic lights whereupon I applied my brakes slightly harder than normal, the van driver promptly got out and retrieved a decent length of 4x2 and proceeded to march towards my car.

Luckily the lights changed and I went on my way, hastily.

Since, I haven't retaliated ever again, I just ignore and drive carefully. They generally overtake when they can, if they're able. I let them.

I have to agree here.... you have no idea and no matter who you or what or "how hard" you think you are, you pick on the wrong person which I firmly believe is very easy these days and you could be in for more than you bargain for

Yes, nothing will make me respond to this type of driving, and nothing will upset me, If I have to wait while someone make 15 attempts to park, what is the point in getting all agitated and upset, I might just as well look out the window and look at nice females, much better for the heart

Last week in France I had a (typical?) French driver inches from my bumper as I was driving at the legal limit through a village at night. He was so close I couldn't see his headlights at all. I didn't brake-test him though. I did the opposite.

Come the end of the village, I floored it. He was soon a goner, and obviously realised what my message was, as he feebly flashed his headlights.

Very satisfying. :D
