i w202, 1999 c250td engine change after a knock. Now the gearbox had to be srviced as well as it was pulled out on the swap and the guys dameged some of the gearbox cables in the process which then had to be reconnected. The problem is that now the car is not changing gears and sometimes remains in gear 3. Called in a gearbox mech who had to replace the valve body circuite body. there was a temporal improvement but the problem has resurfaced after just days and the car is no longer accelerating and the epc light has shown.
Could someone advise on how much ATF each of the gearbox and converter take in i suspect the level could be too high as 5 liters was pumped into the gearbox alone after the converter was already filed up. As well as any usefull hints on these problems.
Also is it possible to convert to a manual gearbox and at what cost could this be.
