C350e owners club

I've just seen this in the online owners manual. I wonder why this isn't available in the UK? Strange.

Selecting permanent display

United Kingdom: this function is unavailable.

This function is only available on HYBRID or PLUG-IN HYBRID vehicles.

The Permanent display function allows you to choose whether the multifunction display always shows the outside temperature or the speed.

The speed display is inverse to your speedometer.

Press 'Home' on the steering wheel to open the menu list.

Press 'Up' or 'Down' on the steering wheel to select the Settings menu.

Confirm by pressing 'OK' on the steering wheel.

Press 'Up' or 'Down' to select the Instrument cluster submenu.

Press 'OK' to confirm.

Press 'Up' or 'Down' to select the Permanent display function.

Press 'OK' to confirm.

The current setting Outside temperature or Dig. speedo [km/h] appears.

To change the setting: press 'OK' again

I don't have the option on mine, did all the above and only got the display odometer setting - Miles or KM:wall bash:

I guess as Saxon06 mentioned it may be that I need software update despite only getting my car in November?

Will get in touch with my local dealer in the next week or so once I hear back on the success of the update.

Same here look forward to hearing if it works

Just drove back from the dealer in my shiny Brilliant Blue Beast, well actually not really a beast as haven't had chance to try it properly yet, have just driven a few miles.

It's smoooooth that's for sure, trying to navigate the menus and explore but obviously that will come in time.

I've got it plugged in and it's got a full tank of fuel with 32% battery charge.

In Mercedes Me it says Total Range is 282 miles which is rather scary but hoping that will change once it gets some proper miles under it's belt.

I'm well happy :)

Glad to hear you're loving it! Mine's coming on Monday morning so not long left for me. I can see my car in Mercedes Me already but looks like you need to activate the services in the car first. So although it shows my car, I can't view fuel levels, locations etc. :( I wanted to track it's progress to my house!

I did exactly the same as you but only when the dealer worked his magic when I collected the car did MM work properly.

Lovely car, stunning inside and out, you wont be disappointed but guessing you already know that :)

The first time when you press start and you realise that the engine isn't going to kick in and you can glide along is awesome.

What a great day you have had :)

I wouldn't worry about the range, it will sort itself out.
Just checked mine. I charged it for free today in the town and decided that I would go home using Sport. Only just over a mile so no big deal and I did want to preserve the battery energy for a trip on Monday.
Result is :

I think there is more to be done by your dealer before all is revealed :)

Quonker - Really glad to see you finally have it. A few points that may help from my learning curve :-

Reversing is very very rapid as it uses the motor !
I couldn't disconnect the cable because like a donkey I didn't read that you need to use the unlock on the fob close to the socket
I never closed the flaps having disconnected the cable - don't know why but I just had a blind spot to closing them - ok now
I removed the drinks holders in the front centre console and that is now enormous !
The central compartment has a front ledge which is useful for the pain killers when you realise 45 mpg is an achievement if you are enjoying the car rather than the 134 mpg in the brochure
The reversing camera (I have the 360) doesn't get dirty as in other cars as it has a cover which only opens when selecting reverse
You can select whether to pre-heat both or just the drivers seat - important if you are pre-heating whilst not plugged in
I have yet to find out how to access in Comand destinations I have sent from within ConnectMe - they must all be in cyberspace

I hope this is useful rather than informing you of what you already know.

I bet you find any reason to drive it over the weekend !!

Thanks wivenhoe and 350e :)

The 360 degree camera is awesome, looking forward to playing more with it when it's light.

Can't find the auto belt tensioner setting, (if it's there of course), and confused with some of the settings, ECO allows you to cruise for longer for instance which I think is strange.

I like as much motor regen as possible which I think is comfort setting but even that doesn't feel too extreme.

Had my 350 a little over a week now, I am getting the same MPG, around 46 although I have "tested" the acceleration a couple ot time in that time. Have to say that it was pretty good and scared the **** out of me.

I have one concern, I cannot find how to display outside temperature!! Any ideas?

Guys do you have the seat belt hug thing on your cars?

Can't see how to enable it.

Also does the car independently connect to the Internet or only when a phone is tethered?

Loving the car so far, sooo smooth :)

I think we worked out in another thread you only get the seatbelt hug if you have the extra safety kit (Pre Safe Plus?). My SLK used to hug me, my 350e doesn't...I feel unloved!

Last tank of fuel I averaged 35mpg. Long trips on the motorway really hobble the MPG!

The internet features are via a tethered phone - which seemed to work well with Android, but less so with my new iPhone, need to give it another attempt. A useful feature if you have your phone connected is within the Sat Nav menu - there's a trip overview, which pulls up the weather, your altitude over the trip and the one I really like, local motorway webcams, so you can see what's coming up ahead :)

I have tried several times using a Blackberry Z10 and an iPhone 6 via o2 and have failed to link up with car apart from the phone itself. Spoke to Mercedes and got the answer that the issue was one that o2 had and we're dealing with it. I'm not holding my breath on that though. If anyone can help I would be glad of it.

I have an iPhone 6 on O2 and my car is being delivered today :) so I'll see if I have the same issues and report back. Need to get this resolved!

Wow! Today? I hope all goes well and I look forward to hearing about your new obsession.

Enjoy it mate.

Ant.

When did you order Mr Walshy?

What a strange bunch you all are in this thread.

I must be a bad person as none of my posts ever get a reply.

Cheer up lads. :D

Hi, Did you order yours through Mercedes in Bradford and if So was it purchased or leased? I presently have a car on order through them, which was ordered on the 1st of May, but the salesman left and this was not processed until 18th May and I am being quoted beginning of March Delivery.
