C350e owners club

Anyone else had the "beep, beep, beep" alert kick in yet when the car thinks you're going to crash into something? It seems a bit overkeen!

Yes, had it today. On a roundabout about to take second exit and a car approaching from left about to join the roundabout (my midships) and the alarm was triggered !

Mine applies the brakes if it thinks impending danger is imminent - trouble is anything from a parked car to a leaf falling off a tree 200m away triggers it. Dealer could fix so car is now under exchange.

Wasn't aware they ever did such a thing, they're a funder themselves, owned by BMW.
Were they to do so (and I still can't believe they would noting their own rates on this car) then of course, you'd be at the mercy of the ultimate registered owner.

Are they tendering it out?

They do sub-contract. Mine is being purchased via Grosvenor, then MB dealer. I'm hoping that, given Alphabet is ok with it then Grosvenor will fall in line.

Posting in here as I feel more like an owner now I've finally managed to register my VIN number and assign the vehicle to me.

I've searched for where I can download the Mercedes Me app to no avail, can someone help with a link or point me in the right direction please?

Excited for next week :)

It's a web app, so you have to go on the internet to connect. Here is the link I found to register:

[URL="https://me.secure.mercedes-benz.com[/URL]

Ahh thanks 350eWaiting, I thought it was a pukka app not just from the web.

Works OK really. Sometimes a bit slow to load, but 9 times out of 10 no issues.
Looks as though there's potential for it to be updated a bit. Multiple departure times would be useful for the pre entry climate control, or a schedule- it's not the biggest pain setting it each day, but annoying if you ever do forget and get in a cold car!
I know, poor me..... :)

Just received this from Rearguards.
The sill protector from Merc is good but as you have to pull it down manually I can't always beat the dog as he makes a jump for it!! As its on lease I didn't want to be in for paint costs!!

Also, if you want a boot liner, the ones from Merc don't fit due the raised floor in the 350e's.

Anyone else got a cheeky little signature on their windscreen like the one I noticed in the week?!

EDIT: should search first, plenty have! Certainly didn't notice it for a good few days though!

Its just to the bottom right if your sat in the driving seat.

What are the black lines around the windscreen?? It doesn't look heated like that of a ford.

For those equally frustrated that the 350e doesn't have an external temperature gauge, I finally have some news. 4 weeks ago the car went back to the dealer as they also couldn't understand why such a basic feature had been excluded from what seems to be UK cars only. Yesterday I received the news that there is now a software update for the car so that we can see the temperature.
The car is booked to go back in for the software update on the 7th Dec, so I will keep you posted. At the moment the dealer doesn't know where it will appear on the dash, I'm hoping in place of the Kph on the bottom left, but we will have to wait and see.
When it is done and I have more detail I will post a photo, armed with this photo you can then use this to approach your dealers to get the software update too.
This is potentially great news as I have found it so daft that this basic feature has been omitted.

I guess that's one of the quality checkers signing off and the valet missed it?

The signature is printed into the windscreen, it's the mark of Karl Benz

Great work Saxon - I had just been going into the weather app!! My wife was starting to mock my decision of car, despite all the awesomeness!! she laughed at my lack of temp gauge!! Replacing the KPH would be useful

Thanks Saxon- that's great, certainly something I've missed, and from a safety perspective rather short sighted of them to omit it in the first place!

Isn't it there already, just hiding :)
Maybe the software update simply puts the car in line with the handbook

I raised this with my dealer. They said after consulting with the factory, they were assured that the new delivered vehicles will have the temperature showing next to the Kmh. According to the dealer, display of kmh is a mandatory feature as cars might travel in different European zones and a sign of speed in both measurements needs to be displayed!
Well, I don't know if this is part of new regulations but I would imagine if someone plans to drive to a different country where other considerations are to be planned, changing the display settings via a simple menu in such a complex machine wouldn't be much of a problem?!
At least, the issue is resolved as it seems to be a matter of software glitch with the GUI. The hardware is in place and working- just the Graphical User Interface needed a tweak

I've just seen this in the online owners manual. I wonder why this isn't available in the UK? Strange.
