A topic from a while ago. But I finally took the plunge with a Thule 991 Raceway 2 bike carrier.

Have included a few photos of it on the car.

Am using it this week, so will report back with any issues - but it was very easy to fit, feels secure, is a good distance from the car and locks the bikes to the carrier and the carrier to the car.

Only problem is the number plate - got to see if I can get a spare created tomorrow before we go...

Strewth, that looks precarious doesn't it....

Hope it does the job OK and doesn't hurt the car. Not sure I'd have sufficient confidence in the strength of the bootlid to try that myself. :(

I've had my call. To be delivered on Friday 5th May. Quite a nice 40th present which is on the 4th. [emoji3]

Anyone share my opinion Diamond cut wheels are a pain in the butt?! Annoyingly kerbed nr side rear sometime ago, won't explain how, but inevitably my own fault. Repairs because of process seems to be minimum 2 days, so thought I'd take advantage of Merc loan car at service and pay a premium for them to organise. Would have been £144 at Mercedes Caterham, but 4 days turnaround, so didn't proceed. Cheapest I've found locally more like £89 but you have to take the wheel to them, (they don't want the car). Blooming fag tbh.

C350e Estate, 1/3 tank Esso fuel , 25kg of rubbish in the boot, flat road acceleration test. Using left foot brake start. 13 deg c ambient vbox test gear, sport + setting 85% battery

I have found the setup (17" hankooks here) very good at not damaging despite a few kerb bumps but I did get the wrong angle just the other day but it's a small dink so will leave as I had already heard it was expensive and painful, hope you get somewhere but I suspect £89 is as good as it gets.

Hey that's impressive, do you have just the sport or any weight adding packs?

What app is that?

Jamie

Windscreen all fixed, they've done a great job. The chap at Autoglass Guildford was friendly and professional. Didn't need any special calibration after all I suspect that's when you have in windscreen cameras for full beam assist?

Hi

Have you noticed any damage to the cover of the pillars inside the vehicle or rattling noise indicating loosened plastic bits somewhere?

Thanks,

M
Eagle

No I have not noticed any damage or loose trim - all seemed a good job (for a change!!)

My saloon is 'due into the dealer' next Friday.

Keeping everything crossed there are no transport delays.

Dunno, but that's a heck of a price unless you can get the OLEV funding to offset some of it.

According to the current C Class Brochure, March 2017 onwards, Mercedes recommend Chargemaster Homecharge as their preferred partner.

Appears to be £279 all in (plus any house electrics I would guess).

Only a 3.6kw installation.

Anybody used this?

I went with Rolec, £149 for 3.6kW or 7.2kW, £199 if you want a tethered cable rather than a socket on the box. Includes 'standard' electrical installation whihc basically means 10m from consumer unit to charger, surface mounted cable.
