C350e owners club

I ordered via Lex very early January, was going to be delayed until July but we have a great fleet manager who managed to press a few buttons.

Stupid question: were we all supplied with a standard type 2 charging cable?

I only use the EVSE cable (with the brick and domestic lug), so when I looked for the other cable last night and when I couldn't find it, I started to doubt whether I'd ever had one.

Old age must be taking its toll...

My car came with two charging cables; one was the charging brick and 13amp plug and the other was a type 2 to type 2 connector. Both came in identical black Mercedes zipped containers. I used the 13amp brick at first but then I had a tethered Rolec charger installed. I keep the brick in the back of the car but as I haven't joined any of the public charging services the type 2 to type 2 stays at the back of the garage.

Went on my first motorway trip today, ran down to Portsmouth without a charge no problem. Charged at work and all was well until I got on the motorway, I'd set the Satnav and to start with thought this is a clever car it's saving the electric until I get into town. Wrong! When I got back into town the car would still coast but didn't use electric or indeed start/stop when I got to the lights. Parked up at office and three hours later when I left switched on ignition and the engine started straight away, after about 50yds it flipped into electric and the seemed to run as normal between electric and engine on the five miles home.
Has anyone suffered an episode like this, loving the car but worried there is something wrong, couldn't find any message in the system to say there was a fault.

Forgot to say that it wouldn't let me select e mode or e save modes, the trip back was also the best mpg I've had at 43.8

Not quite like this, but I've had several similar - one just a couple of days ago.

I think there are at least two reasons why the petrol engine will run when it otherwise shouldn't need to:
1. There's some sort of maintenance it needs to do - doesn't sound likely in your situation
2. It thinks it needs to get rid of the petrol - apparently petrol goes off

Or it could just be that the car is as complicated as **** and got confused.

Did our first bit of motorway today. 140 miles in all. 47.9mpg, almost all at legal motorway speeds apart from some congestion. As you'd expect, mpg improved in the stop/start congestion.

Happy with the sat nav and how it presents information, tyre noise seems very loud at times, no doubt exagerated by how quiet it is most of the time.

Very comfy.

Would have been great had I not scuffed a rear wheel rim when setting off.....crap.

All being well get my car tomorrow, don't think I'm going to able to sleep much tonight!

Rolec 7.2 for me too, no problems to date (14 months)

Yeah mine has done something similar a couple of times, hasn't done it for a while though,

Yeah everyone should get 2x 4m cables unless they specifically ask for either of them to be the longer 8m cables. It's quite unusual, a lot of PHEVS only come with 1 cable....some the brick, some just the type 2.

Forgot to mention, we saw 4 other C350e on our trip yesterday. Surprised to see that many.

Have a look in the cubby box on the left hand side of the boot. That's where mine is. The polystyrene tray lifts out so it might be under there. Also, check if you have a lift up panel under the boot carpet (the estate has one, not sure about the saloon).

Dynamic blue looking amazing in the sun today ❤️

I'm 2 days in after getting the car Friday and loving it. I will comment more on what I think later but for now here's some pics.

So I had a call from my fleet company last week.

"Hi Leo, your car has arrived. Would you like it early or wait until the June 26th due date"

"What do you think?"

"In that case it will be delivered on Wednesday 10th May"

Sooooooooooo excited!

Is that your other half in one of the photos on the mobile?

"Yeah he's been talking about it all the time for weeks and now he's taking loads of photos of it now....don't think he'd noticed if I just walked off"

Haha [emoji23] it's not but the real other half hasn't had much attention all weekend.

When your charge is extra cheeky.....

(I wasn't visiting this town hall....or working there.....or using it.....it was closed.....if it wasn't a Sunday evening I might not have been so brave given the £25 clamping notice.

1st rear tyre change at 28,300 Miles. Switched the factory Hankooks to Bridgestone.

Can't believe they have lasted so long.
