C350e owners club

Mine has been doing that aswell I think it must be when u start it and your last heat setting was above 27c and outside temp was below 4, I might be wrong but that’s the only thing I’ve clocked

I used the pre heat when the car was in the car park at work. No problems normally but it all depends on the car being able to get a signal wherever you parked it. Also the battery must have over 15% charge.

Hi all,

Update on my troubles. It's been at the garage all week and I've had a c220d AMG Line which has been pretty nice, but noisy of course!

I've got a new home charge pack and it's a new style, I like it, it's lighter, simpler and looks more robust....I've attached an image. It also doesn't switch between 8A and 13A, it's now fixed to 10A, which I prefer, faster without getting very hot. The connector is also more solid.

But they're now telling me it doesn't smell despite it still smelling, so they haven't investigated the coolant pump despite it not making a noise and engaging when charging....

But they did update some software which reset various settings like my 24hr clock, the wing mirrors folding when you lock it. They also did tests and have fed back to Mercedes so more waiting....the dealer still doesn't fully understand the electric side....when I was trying to explain he didn't grasp the difference between kw and kWh....

That charger certainly looks very different. Hopefully more up to the task.

The latest exchange of fire on the whole warranty-of-hybrid-powertrain thing was a reply from MB saying they couldn't find the document to which I was referring, that had the explicit statement regarding the entire hybrid powertrain. I sent them a copy of said document in its entirety. Turns out I did have a copy lurking on the iPad. Now safely stored in numerous places.......

My car will shortly be due a service and I was wondering if anyone knew what the latest Comand map version was? Mine has never been updated and is still 2015/2016 and was registered in February 2016.

I remember someone saying they had an update but not sure which version is the most up to date.

Seems strange that this is sold with free updates for 3 years but then there are no updates - trades description act??

Just the usual cynical marketing stuff. There wasn’t a promise of how frequent the updates might be, just that they are free for 3 years, IF they come along in that time.

The new charge pack is really good, I much prefer it charging at the 2.4kW rate by default (well....that's the only rate it supports).

I just got a call from Mercedes, they're going to replace my entire battery pack! Going in on 1st May.
That's a good result.
Mine is still in the dealer.

They have given me a nice courtesy car since yesterday.

"I'm having the top down...."

"But it's raining!"

"I don't care...." (Puts on bright yellow plastic rain hat) :D

Haahhahahaha kind like that but the air scarf is amazingly hot and the car is super solid :-)

Right Mercedes just came back to me and they are replacing the front discs and pads foc.
So I have the courtesy car for one more day

That is excellent news. Well done for persisting too.

I think the maps in mine are dated 2018. My car is a 2018 s205 350e

Here’s a question. If my c350e knows that it’s driving to a charging point, should it try to use all the available charge to get there?

Ok so Mercedes gave me back my car on Thursday.

Replaced the front disks and pads to repair the steering wheel wobble and judder BUT once I gone back on motorway and hit 70MPH the problem is still there. Not fixed.
Car is going back

Regarding the temperature on the main display... It is still not there they cannot figure it out why it cannot show up. They took some diagnostic data and they will send it to Mercedes technical and see what they can do??

Regarding the wear on the seat... They said the sales will not do anything about this as this is how the car was sold..??? And then when I said I questioned about the Mercedes factory warranty. They said they would not even submit it to Mercedes as it will not be covered.
So in a few words not even tried to get a response.

The car is going back in tomorrow.. I had expressed how inconvenient it is. As every car they give me as courtesy I have to pay London congestion charge and also an extra £2 per hour extra parking charges in London due to them being diesels.
Well the voice changed on the phone when I relayed my concerns and inconvenience.

My patience is running thin...
3 workshop visits in 2 weeks... And all visits for the same original problems

Has anyone answered the question whether the tracker on the 350e Mercedes Me app is suitable for insurance purposes, and if so what do you select on the insurance application form as manufacturers because I don’t se Mercedes or even manufacturer fitted as an option?

The insurance industry being what it is, given it isn't listed as an option then I'd think the only definitive answer to that would have to come from the insurer themselves. Even if someone had got the inbuilt telematics to be considered a tracker by one insurer, no guarantee another would agree to it.

Maybe it should, but it doesn’t. It depends which hybrid mode you’ve chosen and even if you choose HYBRID you’re unlikely to get as low as 10% without crawling the last mile at a snail’s pace.

Hi, just checked the Mercedes German site to check how the facelifted car looks like. Apart from the AMG with front spoiler air ducts it looks almost the same. Any one have pics of the Sport version in case I’m wrong. Thanks

Guys I need some help please.

As I never had a "small Mercedes" before .
Is it normal to feel the gear changes in random occasions. While in comfort mode or eco mode.
And the car in E-mode or E-hold mode?

I was in E-hold mode today and following a lorry with 30mph the gearbox changed up a gear and I felt a gentle lick on my back.

I just want to find out if it is normal for the C350e to have an uncivilised gearbox?

Dealership so far has done a controller update and also adaptations clear. But not much changed.

Cheers

Sounds similar to my experiences. Most of the time, gear changes are unnoticeable. Sometimes, however, it does get it wrong.
