C350e owners club

Will the estate with premium package push the co2 above 50? Really in 2 minds over getting a standard sport on 17s or prem plus which I've read requires 18s which will push emissions up?

Could be prem plus, I can't remember. There are some comment earlier in the thread I think.

I am currently running at about 60mpg.

My commute to work is 12 miles and manage this on a charge. Drive home on fuel.
I think the reason it is so high at the moment is because over the Christmas break most of my journeys was done on electric.

The worrying bit is that of the 430 miles on this tank of fuel, It shows nearly 300 were on electric. Does this mean that 130 or so has taken nearly 3/4 of a tank (I have a range of 150 miles).

The range is what it is. as a company car driver, with the BIK being so low, I could be using just petrol all the time and it would still be cheaper than the equivalent C class.

I've got a similar commute, 10 miles. With no charger at work (yet...), I'm trying to weigh up what is the best option. Do I run full electric to work and then fuel back, or a mix of both both ways?
I've got a 60MPH section bookended by town driving, so I figure letting Hybrid mode do the maths and allow petrol to get up to speed is the best way to go.

re. the range, I presume you mean the engine off tally is showing 300miles out of 430? Does seem a bit poor but I'm not sure they quite add up like that.

I think the 310 miles on electric could be write. I have had the car for 30 days, and do about 10-12 miles on electric each day, so the fuel (range of 100 miles left) consumption is high.

As per previous posts, so long as I get more than 40mpg on average, I am still better off financially, and am driving the nicest car I have ever had!

I don't think it matters whether you use Hybrid or Electric on your journey, although there are some occasions where with hybrid the engine has kicked in if I have accelerated hard onto a roundabout which does help.

I know this is supposed to be an Eco car but has anyone thought about whether they will have theirs remapped. Should be possible to get the petrol up to 260 ish and maybe even another 20 out of the electric side? Could make this a 350BHP car!

In my opinion unless you are doing daily mileage mostly covered by the range of the battery it is definitely not an Eco car so this is a very good question.

I've fitted devices to the common rail of my last three cars which were all diesel and they gave a noticeable increase in power.

Not so sure it's as easy with petrol but if you give it a go 350eWaiting please let us know :)

I did a google the other day! Looks like there is one in the Netherlands that will do it. Its a non turbo petrol though and already above 100bhp/litre? So not sure how tunable it would be, and the ECU must be mega complex...

Mines a lease so would need an reversible version ;)

Does anyone know if you have already placed an order for c350e and the delivery is after March, will you get £5000 or £2500 OLEV grant? My local MB dealer advised it will be reduced amount after 1st of March

The £5k is honoured as long as it's delivered within 9 months of the point of order providing MB have registered the order with OLEV. If it goes over the 9 months, then I guess they reapply for whatever grant is available at that time.

Just ordered my C350e so not yet an "owner". The dealer only allowed for a grant of £2500. Delivery will be in three months (he says!) on 7th April. Does this deal qualify for the £5K or £2.5K?

£2.5k if after March. New rules some cars I believe £60k + no longer qualify and EV have to have a range greater than 70 miles to qualify

Grant applications logged with OLEV prior to the end of February, for orders placed prior to that deadline, will receive the plug-in car grant at a level of £5,000, as long as the vehicle is delivered and registered within nine months. Orders placed from March onwards, will receive the new terms. At the moment, MB offer no contribution on the 350e, but if the grant falls to £2,500 (as has been suggested for this car), I have a feeling MB may kick in all or part of the difference anyway.

Electric range

I'm new to the forum. I'm from Norway and I received my C350e a few weeks ago. One thing that I'm not very satisfied with is the electric range. If it's flat my the distance before I'm asked to plug in and charge is about 10km (6.3 miles). When I drive from my house to the MB dealer, I drive 13km (8 miles). The first 5km is downhill and the rest is flat. When I get there I'm told to charge it.
That is a much shorter range than I expected. The examples above were done in +5 to +10 degrees C.
I have seen two tests done by Norwegian magazines, and both ended up with a range of about 20km (12.6 miles). Those tests were done in the same temperatures as my tests.
I have also tried to read many posts here in the forum, and it looks like most of you have a much longer range than me. May something be wrong?
I have contacted the dealer, but they have no answer.

Do you pre-climate the car before you go out. This does make a difference. Also are you driving in Hybrid or full electric? as with the full electric mode you will get another mile or so when the battery is low.

At the moment I am getting between 10 and 12 miles. In all my other cars I have always kept the air con on, but with this one I switch if off. not sure how much difference that makes.

Good luck getting it sorted.
