C350e owners club

No pre-climate. I have tried both Hybrid and E-mode with about the same results.
It looks like mardeman is getting almost twice my range?

At the moment I am getting between 10 and 12 miles. In all my other cars I have always kept the air con on, but with this one I switch if off. not sure how much difference that makes.

Preheat is essential for higher mileage, and I have tested a couple of fully electrical ones and A/C drains the battery. Close to double range when I shut of the A/C.

Floor mats

Hi everyone - after an 8 month wait, my estate is arriving next week. I understand that the Sport spec does not include mats, which for a £42k car seems mean. What have others done / planning to do? OEM velour or ribbed? Third party?

How do you time your pre-heat in the morning.

Do you set it to be ready a few minutes before you go out or set it to finish a few minutes later.

I sometimes notice that when I come out in the morning and the pre-heat has finished, the car looks like it might be taking extra charge. Or is this just me thinking that??

More troubles

I must be mr Lucky! First the gearboxes goes, then all the sensors shut down the safety features, now the suspension has failed. Driving along the M4 the picture of an orange car appears and the world malfunction. After investigating it says do not exceed 80kph and take it to a dealer. Got it to the dealer who can't look at it until Tuesday! It seems like another 2 weeks without it! I waited 8 months for this car and so far it has only been working for 3 weeks in every month. Not happy. MB don't seem to give a toss judging by the response so far with regard to a replacement vehicle whilst mine is off the road again. I am beginning to wish I had stuck with my BMW! I am in Hired Vauxhall, that I had to organise. This is leased through Lex who have said they are raising a complaint. I don't think anyone is listening. I thought MB might have improved the QC, it seems not in my case!

Firstly, I am sorry to hear of your troubles with your long-awaited car; I can only imagine your disappointment, not least as others appear to be enjoying their vehicles trouble free. Though I cannot say I am very familiar with them, assuming you are based in the UK, my rudimentary understanding of recent changes in the law, mean that you have considerable power under which you can potentially force MB to return your purchase. I do not know how the lease arrange with LEX complicates matters, though.

Good luck.

I'm new to the forum. I'm from Norway and I received my C350e a few weeks ago. One thing that I'm not very satisfied with is the electric range. If it's flat my the distance before I'm asked to plug in and charge is about 10km (6.3 miles). When I drive from my house to the MB dealer, I drive 13km (8 miles). The first 5km is downhill and the rest is flat. When I get there I'm told to charge it.
That is a much shorter range than I expected. The examples above were done in +5 to +10 degrees C.
I have seen two tests done by Norwegian magazines, and both ended up with a range of about 20km (12.6 miles). Those tests were done in the same temperatures as my tests.
I have also tried to read many posts here in the forum, and it looks like most of you have a much longer range than me. May something be wrong?
I have contacted the dealer, but they have no answer.

I have the same issue. When I start the car range is at 22-24 km. Drive 6 km to work, and have 10-12 km range to go when I arrive. That is even with preheated car.. (Actually sometimes find the range to be below 20km when preheated, even if plugged in over night). Have Heating on, but still surprised about the low actual range.

I know exactly how you must feel. It f's up the entire experience of eagerly waiting for what should be a great car, and now it's just a shambles...!

I also got a new gearbox... Didn't even get it delivered before it failed. Got a new box and it works fine now. 3 days after finally taking delivery, the yellow engine light popped up, and ended up having to replace a thermostat... Now everything seems to work fine, but there is this little sound when turning left and accelerating. It's like a little knacking sound as if something is not tightened properly. Had it in for 2 days and they cannot find anything wrong... May be nothing, and I realize that driving electric you probably hear every little sound that could normally be hidden by engine noise, but it makes me a little nervous...

Sorry to hear of your problems, have you spoken to Mercedes Fleet as I have found them vey helpful, and lex have not minded me bypassing them and going direct as long as they are kept in the loop.

MercedesMe is not set up for Norway, and if this is tied to it it will probably be useless until MB releases it there...

Mercedes ME is just around the corner in a bunch of new countrys, including Norway. (About time)
Push information about pre heating, charging and such is what i hope for.

Absolutely...! it is frustrating having to pre-set the departure time for the pre-heating and have no remote control over it.. more than 5 minutes late and the pre-heating is automatically turned off...

My dealer say that MercedesMe will be available in Norway in a few months :)

I picked my car up on Monday and so far I am loving it.
I'm sure I read somewhere on here how to get the external temperature displayed but I cant find the thread.
Is there a simple way of going through the menus or does the car have to go back to the dealer?
Thanks

I have now spoken to MB customer services and they are looking into it. Still no comms on a replacement car! You would think that this is the least they could do as a quick fix!

I have made that very point to both MB and Lex, It went very quiet after that!

Is it still making the noise? Do they have a demo car you can check to see if it makes the same noise? This is what I did when I first hard the noise it makes when it is in charge mode and out of drive!

This was a strange experience. Before a short trip to the local store today I decided to pre-heat to see if that could lead to a better electric range. When I turned on pre-heating this morning I saw that the electric range was 19km, like it always is when fully charged. I came back 1.5 haur later to drive to the store. The car was warm, but when starting I noticed that the electric range was now only 12km!!! The charging cable was plugged in all the time during pre-heating.
Is that normal? Also, I was not able to secelt E-mode when I started. It was greyed out!

Hi all

Took delivery of mine Christmas eve, ordered at the end of Jan. Fleet vehicle with Hitachi. Having a problem this morning, and cant see its been covered. The E'mode is greyed out, hybrid isnt kicking in either and on a 50 mile journey i've charged the battery using the engine sat at 75%. Arrived at the office, engine off and back on and battery still not kicking in...... suspect i'm back to the dealer!?!
