C350e owners club

I'm missing the external temperature as well, if you get your software updated could you confirm how long it takes? I'd book mine in but assume it would end up taking a few hours to sort!

Been wondering this too. If it's a quick job I'll get mine booked in as its a bit disconcerting not knowing if there's a risk of ice out there at the moment once you're cocooned in the warmth of the cabin.

How cool is preheat :)

Watched my colleagues leave the office and sit in their freezing cold cars waiting for their heaters to eventually warm enough to clear their windscreens whilst I opened my door to a warm welcoming environment free of ice and frost.

Cue some very envious glances :)

Does your car have to be plugged in to use the preheat??

If you do not have Mercedes me or keyless go you can set up the pre-entry climate in the car and start it by just unlocking the doors.

This is exactly what I am trying to do, but there is no option to set it up.. only to set up by time. :dk:

Excited, got the call the car is ready. Hopefully collect tomorrow or at the latest Monday.

Hoping for tomorrow so I can spend the weekend playing with the gadgets!

No, as long as there is enough power in the bank, you'r good.
Heat before milage :-)

Oh yes, I always make sure I have enough battery power for preheat despite the fact I can't charge externally at the moment.

Drove to Manchester this morning on E-Save all the way and actually managed to get over 40 MPG for the first time driving at the speed limit rather than my "normal" speeds.

Over 40mpg for a 1.8 tonne 2 litre turbo is pretty great. When you look at this and realise that a 105bhp 1.2l Skoda Octavia only realises 44mpg real world.

Real-world MPG: most economical family cars - What Car?

Phoned MB UK and they said there was no such option.... I turned on the pre-heat by time but without setting anything more, and now it pre-heats via key!! :bannana:

I could not see anywhere to set times for pre-heat by time, but then that option is not much use for me anyway...

I've run into the lease/connect me issue. Dealer wouldn't activate without confirmation from leaser. Lease company are claiming they don't support it on "data protection" grounds... I've sent a logical and reasoned argument email back, so will see where it gets me...

Took it for another long run yesterday, I wasn't particularly watching but from Leeds to Doncaster I managed to charge 40% of battery going motorway speeds, must be downhill!
Then gave it another blast on the country roads near me, it smile inducingly fast. I even discovered I wasn't pressing the pedal all the way!

Confirmed pickup for tomorrow. Probably sit in it all day Saturday figuring out all the buttons.

Got mine the other day and it's a lovely car, the speed (especially is sport plus), the ride (airmatic suspension is lovely) but the best thing about the whole car is the new car smell :D

I still don't have a temperature gauge, and I realised this morning how useful it is.

For most of this week, I have come out and as I have driven off the drive, the petrol has kicked in because of how cold it is. Only needs it for a few hundred yards, but then I was only getting 9 miles on a charge.

This morning, much warmer, no petrol, and I got to work (12 miles) without the engine kicking in.

Looking forward to next week when it is supposedly 14 or so, to see if I have any charge left at the end of the day.

are you charging at both ends??

I have a tethered cable!!!!!!!!!!!!

no, seriously I only charge at home as we don't have any access at work.

I sometimes go down to Asda at lunchtime, but in my break it manages to charge enough to get me back to the office so pretty pointless.

Car goes into build on the 1st Feb ... delivery to dealer on 19th ... will pick up 1st March ... Feb is going to be a LOOOONNNGGG month !
