C350e owners club

Weight (Mass) and CG

Maybe a sack of concrete on the hood to even out the weight? Haha

This topic goes back a bit but got me thinking so, in preparation for the Big Day (still someway off) I took my C320cdi Estate off to a weighbridge to give me a "base-line" for when I do the same with my C350e when it arrives.

The book figure of kerb weight is 1750kg (inc 90% fuel + driver and kit)
My car was 1780 kg (75% fuel no driver but about 30kg of kit).
Weight of front axle - 900kg; weight on rear axle 880kg. All data ±20kg.

I was surprised that the weights were so evenly balanced so look forward to trying the C350e.

I enjoy the drive in the C320cdi, especially the torque, but it's not naturally really sporty; I just like making it feel so when there is only me in the car!

The max weight of the C350e is given at 1780kg (same rules as for C320cdi) but with only 90% of a 50litre tank.

Do those already with the C350e find that the tank is only 50litres?

I reckon its only a touch bigger. I filled up with 44l today. I had one light left on the guage and it had stopped giving me a range.

First battery test

hi

charged the car upto 100% this morning on the GMEV point - gave me 13 miles
commute to work is 4.1 miles - used 33% of charge and left me with 9 miles!

Road conditions mostly clear and flat and due to traffic did a variable 30 mph

So not too bad - if i can maintain this i get to commute for free!!

Regards

Frank

The way to drive is carefully!!!!

last week I managed to get 12 miles on a charge, this morning 11, and other days 9.

Shouldn't be any reason you wont get 8.

here it is - not sure who it is though!

Software update completed at MB Macclesfield, with a wash and vac as part of the service. I can now see the outside temperature - isn't technology marvellous? Whatever next.

How long idd the update take??

They reckoned it would take about 3 hours as they might have to do a full update.

Did this fix the issue with range not being shown once the fuel light comes on?

Filled up yesterday with the tank showing at 3% (the last notch on the fuel gauge starts flashing!) and managed to get 44.77 litres into it so the 50 litre capacity sounds pretty genuine! Here's the Mercedes Me app screenshot Screenshot

Man on the moon? :-)

Standard tank = 50 liter, extended volume (not available on c350e) = 66 liter.

I was in for around 2.5 hours which gave me time to do a little work, drink lots of coffee, talk to the sales guys and sit inside some cool cars including an S63 AMG coupe and an AMG-GT.

Bit of a step down getting back in my lowly c350e after that!

Battery test 2

Fully charged 100% same journey - drove a little harder this time - less traffic - used 34% but only had 6 miles left - not sure why the miles went down but usage more or less the same!

I have been using the sat nav to see if the route planning makes a difference - will try without it tomorrow.

Still so cool to drive!

Mine booked in for a software update to finally get the outside temperature. Excellent support from the Parts Manager, service and sales teams at MB Chelmsford.
