it doesnt come with the PP pack, its a seperate option. Wasn't as expensive as I thought it would have been.

Indeed, its an option over and above PP. As you said it's pretty cheap.

I love it, its both very cool to showoff and actually very useful, especially when you are learning the cars dimensions

Actual cost to charge

Hi all - new to the thread....

Currently tempted to get the C350e and have read the threads on MPG and performance - was wondering if anyone has worked out how much it costs to recharge the battery each evening from Empty to full (if it goes to empty) Does your fuel costs go down but your Electricity bill go through the roof???

Having done some miles over the past few days I thought I would post some more real life numbers...

Sunday went from South Coast to near York, roughly a 300 mile journey. Left home with full charge, did a bit of around town driving in Portsmouth to collect a colleague and then headed up, motorways almost all the way and I have a pretty heavy foot. Car averaged 39 mpg.

Returning I left with a 4% charge as had been running around in the morning, same journey in reverse although traffic was a bit busier in place, the car managed just under 38mpg.

All in all I was happy with these due to the peformance that comes with it, most journeys I do are short distance which the electric has been great for although I do still want to calculate the cost per mile once I can work out what a charge is costing me... Does anyone know the KWh of the charger for both 8A and 13A ?

Due to maximum 80% usage, a full charge excluding power used for pre heat.
Numbers should end up at 4,96 kwh each charge.

Ok people, I am in Stuttgart picking up my own brand new estate next week.
Since pickup is at factory, there is a big chance I will take pictures.
I will not be allowed to take pictures inside the factory itself, but everything else will be open.
Do you want pictures, and If so of what?

If you can identify them as such, see if you can get a group shot of a large number of C350Es in a parking area to give a view of which colours are being selected. The blue seems to be a favourite here in the UK but might be different Europe/Globally. Having ordered Obsidian Black, I'm interested to know if it'll be a rare beasty.

Can do.
Ordered the Obsidian Black estate my self, privacy glass, and all options except panorama roof.
Same rims as on your picture also.

My car goes down to 10, sometimes 9% before dropping out of e-mode. Is this actually only 80% of battery discharged...
Mine takes just shy of 2hrs to charge from empty.
My dad has a power-ometer at his house so tested the actual wattage pulled and it was around 3000.

Lucky guy going to collect your car, any juicy shots of black series would be nice

I can find more reviews of the Passat GTE than the C350e, I might be cynically minded but wonder if it's because real world economy is so far from what is claimed and MB are trying to avoid bad press in this era of VW shenanigans.

Seeing the estate on brilliant blue makes me think I made the wrong choice with cavansite blue
