Interesting, I have a Rolec installed at home with the socket (two different cars to charge so a tethered cable wasn't any use to me) and use the cable that came with the car with no problems at all - the car just starts charging when you plug in.Thanks Mardeman, I'd read that before so gave it a try but no difference I'm afraid. I've wiggled both ends (it's an untethered 16A Rolec socket) but it doesn't want to play.
There are no controls other than the LED on the face of the socket and the RCD is switched on. I've tried plugging into the socket first then the vehicle and the other way round, but neither makes a difference.
The socket is clearly recognising a connection as the LED is turning solid blue, but the car is not activating the charging for some reason.
I'm confused!
Has anyone else tried the charge point so you know it's definitely working properly? It's possible that there a fault with it. If your car charges with the 13a "brick" cable OK then I doubt it's a problem with the car. Maybe try switching the charge point off at the isolation point and then back on again so rebooting it. Unlikely to fix, I know but worth a go. Otherwise you may have to get the installers back to check it's working.
