C350e owners club

New Mercedes me app

While c350e drivers will need the web app for some essential features such as pre climate, I wanted to let you all know that the new iOS app has improved. It now works in miles for those of us in uk and is really useful when it comes to notifications. For example, yesterday when I forgot to lock the car in central Manchester of all places, I received a notification saying 'your car is unlocked, would you like to lock it?' ---- brilliant, of course I do. :thumb:

Does anyone know how to turn off the passenger side wing mirror from moving when putting the vehicle in reverse? I've been throug every setting I can find and nothing... Grrr!

I don't think you can turn it off but you can store your own custom position which might be the same as your normal one. Below is the extract from the manual on how to do this:
Turn the key to position 2 in the ignition lock more.
Press button for the exterior mirror on the front-passenger side.
Engage reverse gear.
The exterior mirror on the front-passenger side moves to the preset parking position.
Use adjustment button to adjust the exterior mirror to a position that allows you to see the rear wheel and the kerb.
The parking position is stored.
Info
If you shift the transmission to another position, the exterior mirror on the front-passenger side returns to the driving position.

Using the memory button
You can store the parking position of the exterior mirror on the front-passenger side using memory button M . The reverse gear must not be engaged.
Turn the key to position 2 in the ignition lock more.
Press button for the exterior mirror on the front-passenger side.
Use adjustment button to adjust the exterior mirror to a position that allows you to see the rear wheel and the kerb.
Press memory button M and one of the arrows on adjustment button within three seconds.
The parking position is stored if the exterior mirror does not move.
If the mirror moves out of position, repeat the steps.
After successfully storing, reset the driving position of the exterior mirror.
Calling up a stored parking position
Turn the key to position 2 in the ignition lock more.
Adjust the exterior mirror on the front-passenger side using button .
Engage reverse gear.
The exterior mirror on the front-passenger side moves to the stored parking position.
The exterior mirror on the front-passenger side moves back to its original position:
as soon as you exceed a speed of 15 km/h
about ten seconds after you have disengaged reverse gear
if you press button for the exterior mirror on the driver's side

Hope you are not offended when I say I can't imagine why you would want to do this! I've been using this facility on the C-Class for about 9-10 years and have been lost without it when it has been messed about with by the garage during servicing. Easy enough to reset, however, as described above. The 360° camera is a wonderful substitute and I'm now hooked on that when reversing into a tight space.

I know it does with Comand as long as you put the car into Eco mode on the Dynamic Select. Manual section below just says suitable route guidance which implies Comand or Garmin. The final sentence says how you can see route based energy management is active. [emoji3] Glad I spent the 9 months waiting for the car reading the manuals - the iPhone app version of MB Guides is really handy.

Route-based energy management
For route-based energy management, the system factors in information about the expected route when route guidance is active.
The information on the route is provided by the multimedia system and includes the following:
road categories
speed limitations
data on downhill gradients
The use of electric energy is automatically optimally distributed from the beginning to the end of the journey, using information about the route. The distribution is pre-emptive and takes into consideration:
the sections of the journey ahead
the energy consumption on the whole route
The charge status of the high-voltage battery is thus systematically controlled. In addition, the control function takes into account that:
the fuel savings through the use of can vary, depending on the route (e.g. urban, interurban or motorway)
the use of electrical energy is held available in particular for electric operation (e.g. urban routes)
The vehicle thus automatically selects the optimum driving mode for the respective section of the route.
Route-based energy management is available under the following conditions:
drive program E is selected
HYBRID driving mode is selected
active route guidance is activated
suitable map data is available
When route-based energy management is in operation, the area in front of the vehicle is shown as green in the multifunction display.

This green area in the multifunction display, where can I find that? Or am I being thick?! Anybody got a pic please?

I will have a play tomorrow - possibly on the Assistance Graphic screen where Distronic etc appears?

On a slightly related subject - has anyone tried fooling the Eco system for return trips. For example I drive about 13 miles (each way) to Birmingham International station (mixed roads). Normally I am just about out of electric power by the time of my return journey. I am thinking of setting the round trip and seeing if I get better economy over all.

I think I am obsessed [emoji3]

Ryeltep, I know what you mean! I'm having the time of my life to be honest, I think it's slowed me down though by me trying to get the mpg up... The joy from those green charging lights lol

And if you could have a play and shed some light on "the green area" it would be greatly appreciated.

I think the green but being referred to is on the smaller TFT display, on the battery indicator screen, in the bottom left corner. It's a small bit of green to indicate you have linked sat nav to eco mode. The battery level also goes green.

I think it goes red for sport+ :D

To turn off the passenger mirror (left side) from moving down when in reverse, just switch your side mirror setting to the the driver side (right side). Hope this help for those who don't have the luxury of 360 camera..

Reasonably good economy so far on this tank

What do you think?!

That you dont drive it hard enough :)

Impressive figures, what is your driving profile for that, assume all local short run driving ?

Not as restrained as you'd think ;)....that is 8 days of fairly local driving with 3 or 4 motorway runs of around 30-35 miles.

.......and F1 engines. Oh no, sorry. They're limited to 1.6 litres.

I'm still so surprised there are no owners videos on YouTube yet! There's quite a few BMW 330e and Golf GTE videos but hardly anything for C350e's

Can someone make a driving video!

Luxury indeed! The suggestion about the mirror is valid; but the idea that the 360° camera is a luxury is odd considering that the extra cost is a mere £279.17 on top of the £40,000+ already spent.

This is a "luxury" car - albeit not in the top league. Now Real luxury would be the AMG Sport I saw in the showroom for which the gold paint alone would cost an extra £10,000.

Finally got the nice rims on!!

Is this a lease car? Would like to do the same but not sure how the lease company would react.
