C63 507 Model Register

Seems we’re quite similar Steve. I’m generally a black car kinda guy and my first 507 coupe was black. But as others have said before, black hides a lot of the subtle design aspects of the 507 somewhat. For me, silver is just too ‘normal’ for this era of MB, so that’s not ideal.

I ended up with white by accident as I prioritised mileage and condition over colour, now I’ve had it a while I think it’s fabulous as it’s a real contrast to the black styling feature on the 507.
Good luck with the sale of your car, just wondering what car you could replace an awesome 507 with.

Steve, the ‘problem’ with my car is it’s too good. With my two kids and two dogs, IF I use it as a ‘normal’ car it’ll get, well, trashed.

And that‘s before even thinking about what’d happen if the Missus drives it...

Hi dan
Yes it is
Yeah has keyless and privacy also- thanks!
Car never had decals on it when I purchased it

Hi Tucko

Do you have any photos of your car?

Thanks

Before I purchased my C63 507 I kept a register of all the cars that I saw for sale, until eventually I found the right one for me, a silver coupe with black 507 wheels. I decided to keep the list going, partly for interest and partly as a challenge, to see how many of the 233 UK registered cars I could find. OK, I know it makes me look like a right 'Anorak' but this is the last of the big engine NA cars that Mercedes ever made so a milestone in their history.

I did post previously here
C63 507 Statistics

but since then the Register has grown to 130 cars for which I have Registration No., build spec etc.

The first 507 was registered in July 2013 and the last in May 2015. The busiest months for new cars, unsurprisingly, were Sept 2013 and March 2014.

Coupes were the most popular body style and Estates quite rare. I understand only 21 Estates were ever sold in the UK

Colour wise, Polar White is by far the one you're most likely to see. I hadn't originally realised that Tenorite Grey was an option as there was no mention of this in the sales brochure.

Looking at the options list then Privacy Glass, Harmon Kardon sound system and Black 19" wheels feature on over half the cars. If you're looking for a Tenorite Grey Estate with Lane tracking package you may have a long wait (one does exist though).

Finally, interior trim. Most going for full black leather rather than either of the Leather/Dinamica options

I know there are a few on here who own, or have owned a 507 so would be great if you can send me a pm with details of your car so I can include on the Model Register [Apowers; JohnV; kw507; Contrast; Bongo Fury; Mike746; steelnads; bravo05; benzyone; H20MRV).

Also, let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know about this awesome model and I'll add to this thread.

Phil

Hi Phil

Do you have any more updates about info relating to estates?

Thanks.

How long are folk leaving their motors stood? I usually start mine every couple of weeks , get oil and water up to temperature, aircon on cold. Left the 507 four weeks and it started first turn and its not on a trickle charger 👍😊

Looking very nice in the sun 👍

I take mine out every two weeks and have just had a new CTEK delivered for it and the wife's Evoque. The 507 starts on the button every time and I am fortunate enough to be near to the M25 so a quick lap between 2 junctions get the battery reasonably charged before the stop sat Pets at Home for hound supplies on the return leg :thumb:

The Evoque is fitted with an AGM battery due to the stop/start function and has done quite a few short journeys recently, so whilst it has started every time without issue it did need a recharge and is currently enjoying first use of the new CTEK.

Yes which CTEK did you go for?

I ordered a CTEK MXS 5.0 from Amazon and it arrived in 7 days. Highly recommended by a few friends with more than one car and with start/stop functions on some.

Hoping to get myself into 507 post lockdown, just trying to find a well spec'd estate for sale in a colour I like, not sure whether to play the waiting game or settle for a well spec'd PPP non 507.

I’d wait for a mint 507 to come along if I was you. I waited about 9 months to find the right car, I left my phone number with a lot of motor dealers and came up trumps when Gary at mclaren Solihull gave me a call to say a mint 507 estate was coming in part exchange if I was still interested in purchasing one.
