Coupe, Saloon or Estate? Any colour restrictions?

Yes seen all of them. All with absolutely no optional extras other than the 19’ wheels and privacy glass. And 44k is in my opinion a little steep for the extras it has. The other one has 6 owners and the last one with 19k miles is showing signs of well used and not the cleanest example.

Have you seen this one?

MERCEDES-BENZ C63 AMG 507 EDITION 2014

I'm certain it was up at another dealer a couple of weeks ago for a lower price so there may be some movement available if it suits your requirements.

The C63 507 was quite a well specified car in the first place with heated [leather] Memory seats, Comand, Panoramic roof, 19" wheels, Intelligent Lighting System etc. all as standard. From what I've seen people didn't add too many extras on top, which can be seen in the chart below [sample size = 168 cars]. DAB was standard on the coupé and privacy glass not available on the saloon. It always surprises me why people paid £650 to upgrade the stereo when all I want to listen to is the engine & exhaust :)

It is indeed. But a few nice touches do really make the car. Just something simple like the amg illuminated sills adds that bit of extra feel. A shame when you want something there’s not many up for sale or priced so high. Traders tend to have a 5-7k turnover so don’t really want to pay over the odds either. Yes they offer warranty , financing etc.. but still feel a little on the high side. But I guess time will tell..

I have now had my car a short while and had the opportunity to explore its assets a little over the weekend.

Some initial thoughts……….

The Cabin. A superb piece of ergonomic design. All major instruments are to hand very easily and even the less important ones are easy to access and utilise. The seats are extremely supportive and the flat bottom steering wheel a delight. One small gripe is the sheer amount of menus and sub menus the car has, particularly for the DISCTronic and radar assisted cruise control systems. I’m sure I’ll get the hang of them but they are a bit of a black art to set up currently and have something switched on (blind spot assist for example) without having a host of other things on as well which I don't really want or need. I guess read the manual is the answer here :p

The looks. I love the look of the car more every time I go out in it. The Magno Platinum paint colour shows off every angle and I am told it looks particularly menacing in the rear view by friends who have seen it. The fact the car has been de-chromed adds to the menace along with the blackened rear windows.

The Engine. What is there to say that has not been said before? Lovely to cruise around in “C” mode and behaves just like the Evoque my wife has. Sport + mode however is bonkers and rather alarming still to me. The way the power is just thrust at the rear tyres in every gear is mind boggling and the 6800rpm up changes by the gearbox are only bettered by the down changes. I learnt very quickly that you can get the down changes sorted perfectly by braking hard just before where you want to release and make a turn. The noise on a cold start up was a bit alarming the first time, but I'm going to enjoy that more once we get the colder weather arrive.

The Handling. I have the AMG suspension option fitted and I have to say I really like it. The set up may be a bit firm for anyone with standard suspension but I’m coming out of a TVR with suspension set up for track use so it feels perfect to me. The steering feels just right on turn in and is as firm as I would like if for feedback but still easy to catch a bit of oversteer when it happens. The only downside is the lack of an LSD which was obvious to me a couple of times over the weekend when asking for full power out of a roundabout. I am not a driving God so I am going to resolve that by having a Quaife one fitted in the next few weeks.

Overall I am stunned by the car and now realise why people have raved about them. I plan to keep this car for quite some time so will hopefully catch up with a few of you at events etc. going forward.

I'd recommend a Wavetrac differential over a Quaife having had the latter in my previous Z4 and the former recently added to my C63. Regal Autosport are the distributors and can do one for £1,600 fitted.

Welcome to 507 ownership and great that you've enjoyed your first few days so much. Sport+ on a bumpy road is quite an experience as the throttle is so sensitive :)

You're not wrong. First full throttle blat down a quiet country road and I realised it wasn't as smooth as I had previously thought

My passenger commented it was like being in a shallow roller coaster ride that he couldn't get off :D

Is there anybody on here who can get a copy of the original build/spec sheet from Mercedes for my car ? Would be nice to have it in the folder I am going to keep for it going forward.

Cheers Phil you are a true Gent.................2 1/2 pages of it

Looks to be in very good condition. The main options you might actually miss are Harmon Kardon stereo and an LSD. The HK isn't amazing anyway and you can sort an LSD aftermarket easily enough.

That's low owners for a C63, although granted it's a few for the mileage. Check it's still been serviced based on time and not skipped due to not doing the mileage.

Too many chumps buy a C63 and then make some lame excuse about why they need to sell it after less than a year. Usually something like 'I have to do an extra 100 miles a week now so can't afford the fuel/don't want to put the miles on a special car'. In practice it's a C Class so it's great at doing miles and it's not that much saved in fuel unless you're going to something extremely economical.

PS: Very refreshing to see the silver wheels which work so well against the black paint and red calipers. So many cars have boring black wheels now.

Totally agree. I think the titanium/silver wheels look good on a black car.

The only factory option on this car is Privacy Glass but looks like a decent example of a 507 otherwise.
