Hi people,

In the market for a c63 AMG coupe with performance pack on lease for 24 months with 10k mileage.

The best price so far has been around 900/month.

Has anybody gone down this route recently, keen to hear experiences or a lease company to recommend

Cheers
Adz

900 quid, wow thats expensive, whos that with?

Try freedomcontracts.com. £527.99 incl vat 6+23.

Also try your local merc dealer and show them this price and deal to see if they can compete.

Is that with the PP? :dk: figures starting with a 5 are usually for 36 months also.

Really? That will not be the performance pack I'm guessing?

And I'm guessing that's also not maintenance included...

Still seems competitive will try them out cheers pal

And you NEVER own it ??

So while your paying £528 a month u need to be saving you next deposit ??

Fur Coat springs to mind

Hmm I will find out the nuances if that deal because other lease companies are way more, the pessimist in me says its too good to be true...

I really dont get this leasing thing
Why not borrow the same amount of money over the same term and buy a used low mileage car ok its used but some one else has taken the big initial VAT / 2 year depreciation hit
If you're prepared to chuck a £2600 Deposit plus a further £12,600 over two years (£15,200) to rent a car surely you could buy on HP a decent set of Wheels for similar money from Day one its an asset - albeit a depreciating one whatever you buy its going to be worth at least £5k
A Lease is a costly liability

Because you don't pay for tax or servicing maintenance on tyres and you get a brand spanking new car. I personally don't view a car as an asset it's just an operating cost, So I'd rather have my cash in investments that are yielding the same monthly income as the car is costing. I don't think borrowing 40-50k over two years will be cheaper if you add the front loaded interest? Plus you still have to pay tax and maintenance...

So the APR must be pretty low on the car and pretty high on Investments I guess ??

Totally agree (unless it's an exceptionally collectable vehicle)- and I doubt there's a cheaper way to have such a £60k new car for 2 yrs, than through the best lease deals.

tbh just looking on trader... i was pretty shocked at the devaluation over 1/2 years...i do like the coupe version so might have it on my list in a few years...of course when they have lost most of the money, just like i did with my E55:thumb:

To borrow 60k over 2 years I guess it will cost circa £2750/month in repayments with a bank plus you have to pay for servicing and taxing the car. with a lease my investments yielding me 6.5% a year so will match any lease payment I would be making with nothing to worry about on maintenance or tax only the petrol

if thats the case I will buy one outright in 2 years
Can't think of anyone I need to impress in the meantime LOL

Spot on. Leasing gets people into a 'better' (accurately 'more expensive') car than they could afford to buy outright. This has been done to death on here and we all know that some get properly bent out of shape over it.

What irks me is the people who lease it and then go around saying they've weighed out "sixty large on their motah" No, you've rented it for a bit for, in this case, £15K. You just have to decide whether renting a C63 for two years is a good use of that amount of money or not.

Given it would definitely lose that in depreciation over two years it seems like a good deal to me. I can't understand those that see buying it and suffering the depreciation take the moral high ground. It's financially naive compared to leasing. If you don't want to lose £15K then don't do either.

Absolutely

So buy a 2 year old one instead of trying to impress (yourself):wallbash:

Which is what I'd probably do, if I wanted a C63. The comparison I was making for someone weighing up the pros and cons of leasing/buying a new one.

I'm still looking through my address book for some one I need to impress that much LOL
