C63 AMG lease deals

Even a 2 yr old one for say 45k why not invest that into a mutual fund for three years and earn 10-15% instead... Can't see the logic of having 20k+ sat in a depreciating asset, it's all about opportunity cost of money I guess..

Anyway I wasn't looking for a discussion on the pros/cons... Anybody else seen competitively priced lease deals?

Spot on. Leasing gets people into a 'better' (accurately 'more expensive') car than they could afford to buy outright. This has been done to death on here and we all know that some get properly bent out of shape over it.

What irks me is the people who lease it and then go around saying they've weighed out "sixty large on their motah" No, you've rented it for a bit for, in this case, £15K. You just have to decide whether renting a C63 for two years is a good use of that amount of money or not.

Given it would definitely lose that in depreciation over two years it seems like a good deal to me. I can't understand those that see buying it and suffering the depreciation take the moral high ground. It's financially naive compared to leasing. If you don't want to lose £15K then don't do either.

Any specifics?

investments yielding me 6.5% a year so will match any lease payment I would be making with nothing to worry about on maintenance or tax only the petrol

6.5% per annum, net of tax (as you then use it to buy something which I think you can't offset the tax on). I wish I could get that return guaranteed :-)

(Ok, so I could buy property not near major southern cities)

Needless to say, look at what you recon you'll get when you part-ex the car in 2 years time, and compare it to the cost of the lease / contract hire payments, then its a simple un-emotional comparison. Leases are often surprisingly cheap especially if you are not adding loads of options which you basically pay for 90-100% over the time of the lease as many are worth almost nothing when the car ends up in an auction and the end of the lease.

Yes I have a few houses yielding me above 7% the rent market is booming.

I think people are forgetting the hassle of selling a 2-3yr old AMG on the private market! With a lease that headache is taken away.

Agree with the options. Unless you want mod the car they are pointless.

reading all the posts, £15k lease over 2 years / against potential £20k depreciation bought new over the same period, surely its a no brainer...

be really interesting to see if anyone can beat the freedomcontracts deal...

I did a bit of looking around and didn't find anyone who could beat them. Service has been very good and delivery is 3 months sooner than originally promised! I should have it in a couple of weeks. Standard spec magnetite black saloon with red leather.

Oh and hi everyone :)

Exactly I have 12 properties in the north west yielding up to 12%. I prefer to lease my cars for that reason however for your standard Joe bloggs employee it probably makes sense long term to pay cash for a car.

I leased too.

No point buying secondhand and having to pay out for major servicing and costly consumables, not to mention a new warranty. I only wanted the car for two years too.

I used Fleet Prices and got:
3+24 / 12k miles
£600 per month including VAT
Non-PPP

I increased the mileage to 12k and he price went up by £25 per month.

So all in all a great deal with a low deposit.
