citroen hydractive

Grief I am seriously in love with that SM.

Seatbelts are now man sized and I drove it back from Weston on the Green in heavy side winds and boy did it love it. It is an adorable, imperative, comfortable and joyous thing to drove.

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day!?

I saw that advert earlier. Ideally, I don't want a series 2 car, but am giving that one some thought.
That car is one of the last sinkers and will have a Bosch pump.

If I was you, I would look at it and probably buy it and get it into really nice order. Cars with YBL registration were originally registered by Citroen UK.

There probably were some Series 2 V6 estates, but by then the 2.1 diesel had a real stronghold in this sector, especially for estates. There is only one series 2 V6 none-Exclusive, left on the road, so I suspect there won't be any estates now.

It's cheap enough to buy as a punt.

I'll see if I can get to see it next week. Despite not being able to drive, conveniently it is very close to a train line that is straightforward for me to catch.

Managed to miss it, just wasn't able to get over last week.

Here's a good Citroen for Dieselman though...

A classic

Probably not much risk of being stuck in the outside lane in that...

Did the Estate sell, or has the advert just run out?

Don't know - it just disappeared when I went to look for it.

Aha...but Charles, have you got the promotional watch? :D

If someone bought mine for that I'd buy them a Rolex!*

* obviously a fake one, but a good fake one that no-one could tell apart

Some photos from the Citroen Car Club Rally yesterday - I went to do some XM due diligence.

A lovely sight not recorded, but as I waited in my SM to rejoin the A45 from a pitstop a Citroen Traction Avant Convertible in exquisite condition drove past me, and gave me a firm wave, which was acknowledged with my version of the Mussolini salute. Two of the world's most important cars.

Well, having owned one XM (for a fortnight) where I think the suspension needed some attention, I chopped it in for this Black V6 and I can safely say it is the most comfortably suspended car I've driven, with the Hydractive when engaged adding tremendous roadholding. A quite extraordinary mix!

Do they still use those green spheres, I remember those on Dads DS about 50 years ago. Great system unless you have leaks.

The XM uses them - of the current Citroen line up you can sadly only get them on the C5 Exclusive.

A shame as the ride is absolutely extraordinary.
