New centre caps!

AT last managed to find some 60mm centre caps for the Aftermarket wheels. so fitted those today certainly makes a difference, £20 later so will be interesting to see how they last:crazy:

Have done 7,000 miles in her since the last one so finger's crossed on a pass

Engine mount replcement time!

Well did the engine mounts last night with the help of a good friend, All went pretty well tbf.

There is no need to remove the alternator or Catalyst for the Osf though it would make things alittle easier.

Took about 1hr half in the end but was well worth doing. No more slap side to side when turning the engine off.

The Old mounts had been compressed about a 1" over the new replacement ones, the replacements were actually made by Boge the same that had come off.

Car feels very very tight on the road now and very smooth.

I wouldn't have bought mounts made by boge lol [emoji23].

Nice work though btw

Rear bumper protection

Since having the Bumpers re painted it's a royal pain in the a*** getting the kids out of the boot as i was frightened they would mark the paint.

Sooo, fitted one of these £49.95 off the bay but to be far i quite like it and i'm sure it will do the job.

Next on the list is to fit the replacement arch liner to the n/s rear after the blow out.

Looks good Gav. my bumper has got scratched without kids getting in and out

Freshen up!

Had my new tyre fitted due to a blow out on the n/s rear after hitting flint in the road, Replaced the arch liner too as this took most of the damage, all the rest was ok.

Whilst the car was off the road i added the finishing touches,

2x small clips that hold the rear side cover trim in the boot.
2x Mb wipers
1x Tailgate Star Gen Mb as the old one was tarnished.

Whilst i was there i strip the tail gate down and clean everything ie chrome strip etc then polished and replaced.

Looks simply stunning now almost new at the rear.

AMG Bumper!

I ordered last week from Droonsfield a AMG front bumper in 744 silver, I told Dad about it at the time but unfortunatly he never got to see it fitted.

I Lost my Dad Thursday19-5-16 due to a long battle with Cancer and Dementia, obviously ive been all over the place we were very very close :(

So last night i got it fitted kept me busy for abit, I think he would have been impressed.

Here's a couple of pic's

My original front bumper which is pretty like new is now for sale in the For Sale section of the forum and on ebay.

Sorry to hear about your dad Gav I am sure he would have loved to see the new front bumper, you have done a great job with the car,I have a similar problem as you with number 5 glow plug but unlike your engine,my 2007 320 cdi looks like a pig to work on,you can see your glow plugs I have no idea how much stuff I would have to take off to get to mine,I will have Robin at Ramsey do it.

Robin is a good lad and yes they are a right pitta on the v6 if ther being a bugger to get out.

Thankyou for your kind thoughts/comments

Just read through your build, some very inspiring levels of attention to detail there, shame you had to sell it.

I bought my w211 a week ago with many plans, many of which I see you did on yours. Anyway, great work on the car mate, look forward to see what you replaced it with!

Really apreciate the kind words Sir, Finger's crossed i may have a e55 lined up as i've always wanted one.

So that will be getting a similar attention. The Cdi was a awesome car and it really did end up a cracking looking and driving example.:thumb:
