No I've not used the 425, but I follow a similar process, albeit with Sonax BSD. Again, I also use it to clean the car after a drive, or Auto Finesse Finale now and again.

Back in the day, my cat tried jumping on the car. She slid off and never tried again. lol
I’ve seen spiders also trying to “make the climb” up the bodywork, each foot slipping and sliding
That Mini bonnet was still doing the rounds in the early 2000s at events like Ford Fair and Autosport International etc, it's no wonder it was so shiny!
.Like you, I use the Bilt Hamber snowfoam and the AF Citrus APC (as a prewash on tough spots like squashed bugs) both really good - I’m now a convert (last 2 years) to the Turtle Wax Ceramic Hybrid shampoo and the spray coating. Both fantastic products. The spray is very easy to use (if applied sparingly as recommended on the bottle) and the protection lasts really well.I'm literally the only person on my street (and probably development!) who washes my own car. I always have done too, with every car I own, and I actually consider it to be quite therapeutic.
I'm no master detailer, just a hobbyist, but I know my way around a DA polisher etc, and enjoy things like getting the wheels off and cleaning the arches or pulling the sill covers off and cleaning all the crap out! There's something very rewarding about standing back and admiring your own handwork...usually for it to then rain
Product-wise there's loads of snake oil and buzzwords out there (like the slightest drop of si02 content being branded ceramic in giant letters), and I've probably tried most of them. I always tend to go back to old faithfuls though; Bilt Hamber snow foam and wheel cleaner, Auto Finesse citrus APC, FinishKare 1000P wax and Sonax BSD etc. I don't think there's any right or wrong product or process though as long as you're personally happy with the result.
I have tried the Turtle Wax Hybrid shampoo and spray wax. Although I was happy with the results, I don't like that the shampoo is practically "sud-less". I know it's a minor thing, but it seems to dry quickly on the panel and I found it hard to tell where I'd been. Following their instructions of cleaning a panel and then rinsing it straight away makes it a bit of a faff for me, overcomplicating what should be a simple wash.
Would be interesting to hear your thoughts on the FK2685 when you've had a chance to give it a go.

I always wash my car a section ( tops, sides, lower sides (below doorline and under, last) at a time and rinse so it works for me. Lack of suds yep agree (because of the SiO2 content) but it works.

I’v made a promise to myself to use up everything that I have now, before buying anything new (I’m always giving away partly used bottles of stuff and it is not cheap).

Yep i also wash the car myself, takes 4 hours all in, but don’t do it to impress others, I do it for myself, to ensure it remains as swirl free, and scratch free as possible, and to make sure the paint work doesn’t get dull.
