E320 Cab rear head restraints/roll bars prob

As it was a nice warm day I decided lets have the roof down and just check out all is working fine and check those rear saftey head rerstrains were aok !!! Well they came up but won't go back down !!!

Found a dead AA battery jamed in the offside one but still no joy !!!

Is there a failsafe mechanism that kicks in or a manual release so that I can get them back down ???

I've got the roof up manually but it's a tight fit over the extended head restraints and I'm guessing the only way to get to the mechnism is to remove back of the rear seat, so any suggestion please.

I have found Maintenance Manual info !!!
